He cast Cissnei a sulking look at the repetition of calling the Fang a 'thing', though he didn't dare risk covering the creature's ears - he valued his hands too much. He'd already been munched enough that evening. "Careful, Ciss... you'll hurt his feelings. I'll have you know that he picked up on the fact I was only for eating when there was no food around. Smart dog," he insisted with a wicked grin. "Rufus will be able to train him quickly, and then we won't have to worry about it." We? Well, Reno.

And of course, she got in one more shot, and his hand lifted to his heart, shaking his head in dismay. "You wound me, dear. You really do. More trouble than I'm worth? That hurts!" He gently pulled on the chain-leash to see if the Fang would come closer without yanking, and he was curious to see those clawed paws inch just a little closer. Interesting.

"Dark Nation was ... or is?... Rufus' Guard Hound back home. Trained her since she was a lil thing, and she defends Rufus to the death. She nearly died at Cloud's hands once, defending him, and I think he's kept her away from the fray lately because of it. Or did, until he came here and fate left her behind. So I'm guessing he'll train this guy here just as he trained Dark Nation. Never saw a more loyal creature... well.. besides us." He grinned at that, and reached his hand out very, very slowly toward the Fang, who tipped his ears back a little, but the lips didn't raise. The creature didn't -like- that Reno's hand was coming closer, but he wasn't warning against it. Perhaps he'd be able to pet the thing soon?
