He took the phone back, looking at it while she spoke, turning it over in his hands a few times, and then slipping it back into his pocket. And then he turned back to her, and he couldn't resist reaching out to take her hand. He didn't try to move closer, he just leaned over to catch her hand gently. Partly he wanted to hold it, and partly to see what she would do.
