Denzel watched, stunned and shocked as Irvine spoke to no one. He didn't know what was happening, or whether it was another of Irvine's memories or not. He felt completely helpless.

After the older man had tripped over him and collapsed to the floor, Denzel dusted himself off and moved over to him, kneeling down beside him, doing what Tifa or Marlene would do to him if he was sad and gave him a great big hug.
