We're all living in a Memoria world!

Characters: Irvine Kinneas,  Denzel,  and Lazard Deusericus
Progress: Complete
Summary: All three taking a trip down, memory lane!
Location: Memoria
Date: February 1st, 1804
Warnings: None as of yet, I mean Denzel's there for Kefka's sake!

The cowboy was asleep when the glow bathed him over, and when he awoke, he found himself close to the sea, in a place he found very familiar. Irvine jumped up and asked, "Wh-what? This place...it can't be! How did..." He was confused and shocked at the very fact he was back...back at the orphanage he grew up in.

Quickly the SeeD looked around and shouted out, "Selphie!? Selphie? Squall? Quistis? Zell? Rinoa? Matron? Nida? Anyone!?" Then a low murmur came out last that sounded like "Seifer?" However he still hadn't noticed the two other people there with him.

Denzel brought his hands up to cover his mouth, stifling a laugh. "You smooched the tree..." Another laugh. "I hope there was a girl there in your vision. Or even a boy. 'Cause I don't think tree smooching is normal..."

He offered Irvine a smile, jogging ahead. "Come on, Irvine! Let's keep going!!"

Denzel laughed more. "No one can be prettier than Eiko." At least not in his eyes. Tifa, Shelke and Marlene were all very pretty and Cloud was insanely handsome, but they were all family so they didn't count.

He once more ran on ahead of Irvine. As the room once more shifted, they found themselves on the outskirts of Midgar – along the vast wastelands overlooked by the cliffs. All around Denzel were dead fiends and soldiers that just gave off a 'bad guy' aura. And in Denzel's hand was a sword.

Cloud walked up beside him, clasping a hand onto the boy’s shoulder. "Well done, Denzel. You saved everyone. You really are a hero."

"Me? A hero?" He looked around to see Tifa, Marlene, Shelke and all their friends. Even Eiko, who came over and kissed his cheek.

But just as soon as the scene had appeared, it began to fade away.

As the sword faded from his hand and all his friends faded, all that was left was the burning blush on his cheeks. He nodded his head, trying to find his words. "I...'m okay."

He rubbed at his face, trying to get his blush to go away.

Irvine's words just caused the young boy to blush even brighter. He let out an embarrassed huff, before jogging to catch Irvine up.

"I'm not a hero. That wasn't a memory. it was... a dream. I want to be a hero just like Cloud."

A hero didn't have to fight with a big sword and be the bravest? Well... even so, he'd never be a great hero like Cloud.

As Irvine ran off shooting his imaginary gun, Denzel flailed slightly, running after him. "Irvine! Wait up!!" Damn grown ups with their longer legs and fast running! "Don't leave me behind!"

Denzel finally caught up to Irvine, panting as he tried to catch his breath.

He reached up to take hold of Irvine's hand, looking up at him. "I wonder who is doing all this..."

Denzel stayed close to Irvine's side, giving a firm nod. "I'm okay. I just hope we're past the worst of it now."

He really didn't want to see anymore bad things. He just wanted to go home now.

Another shift. Would this ever end? Now the boy found himself by the Sector 5 church in the slums, a metal pole in his hand. He saw a shiny black motorbike up ahead and made his way over to it, examining it for a long moment before noticing a phone hanging from it. He snatched the phone, flicking it open. Without understanding why, he dialled the number of his house in Sector 7. The same house that had been destroyed.

"Your call to Sector 7 cannot be completed at this time." The operator’s voice kept repeating the same phrase, over and over again. With a growl of frustration, Denzel went to throw the device on the floor, only to notice it had a missed call. Scrolling through the list, he saw numerous missed calls all from the same number – 7th Heaven - and dialled it.

It rang and he freaked out, hanging up instantly, only for the call to be returned. He answered it, holding the phone to his ear.

"Cloud, what a surprise, you never call. Is something wrong? … Cloud? " t was a woman’s voice on the other end of the line.

"No, ma’am…" came Denzel’s timid reply.

"Well who, then? Why do you have Cloud’s phone? "

"I don’t know. " Tears began to well in Denzel’s eyes.

"Who is this? " The woman seemed ill at ease.

"I don’t know, please… I don’t know what to do. I can’t do this." He dropped the metal pole to the floor, sobbing softly.

"Hey, are you crying?"
Pain tore through Denzel’s body as an attack of Geostigma hit him. The phone fell from his hand, hitting the floor as he dropped to his knees, black ooze gushed from his body, pained cries escaping him.

"Hello? Are you okay?! Cloud, if you’re there, pick up!" The woman remained on the line, yet Denzel could hardly hear her voice anymore.

He lost consciousness, and as he came too, a man with blonde hair was running towards him. "Hey! You okay?"

The next few minutes were a blur, but then he was seated on the motorbike. "Tifa said to take you home, kid." The blonde climbed onto the bike. "Grab on."

Denzel felt weak and drained, flopping against the man’s back. The man pulled Denzel’s arm around him, holding onto the boy’s trembling hand.

As the vision faded, Denzel’s hand instantly shot to his forehead to check that the stigma wasn’t there anymore.

Denzel nodded, still checking his forehead and arm for ay sign of the geostigma. "Uh huh... I'm okay..."

He got to his feet and once more dusted himself off. "Time to keep moving?"

[identity profile] xnotyetaherox.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Denzel took hold of Irvine's hand once he was happy there was no black ooze on his head. He blushed a little at Irvine's question. "I was checking the Geostigma hadn't come back."

He looked up at the older, taller male. "I bet you couldn't see it, huh? All the black ooze..."

[identity profile] xnotyetaherox.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"The black ooze... it's one of the effects of Geostigma. It seeps from your pores. It's horrible. I used to have it. But I'm cured now!"

Denzel looked around the room, before shaking his head. "No, I don't remember a place like this at all." He let go of Irvine's hand to run over to the chests, poking at one, finding it didn't fade away. "What do you think is in them?"

[identity profile] xnotyetaherox.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
Denzel squeaked as the cowboy threw himself down infront of him. Once the chest was opened, he leaned up on tiptoes, trying to see past Irvine to see what was in it. "What is it? What is it? Is it treasure?"

He settled back on flat feet and poked the other chest. "Do you think the bomb is in this one then?"
