"Huh? Oh yeah. Most cities on the Mist Continent are," Zidane answered after a moment's pause, tapping his lips with a finger as he pondered the question. "We'd lived with Mist for so long that by the time it disappeared, we almost didn't know what to do without it. Most of our technology ran on the stuff, and our steam engines were still really experimental. Airships stop flying, cable cars stopped running--it was kind of a mess. We adapted though. But yeah, most of our cities were founded while there was Mist, so as a continent we used the geography to our advantage. The only place with people below the Mist is Burmecia, and they've got constant rain to filter out the Mist's effects."
Spouting off this information in his usual way, that being stream-of-consciousness, Zidane led them in the direction of the bar on autopilot, barely looking where he was going. He almost walked himself into a pole very briefly, but other than that the stroll was uneventful, the only excitement offered by Zidane's ramblings.
"...do you guys have Mist where you come from?" Zidane added as a puzzled afterthought, once he'd run out of information to throw at Fran and the thought occurred to him. She didn't seem to need any explanation about Mist and why it was a bad idea to go out in it, after all.
