Dagger wrapped her arms around her knees, pulling her legs up to her chest.
"You know... It's strange. When I was growing up in Alexandria, it never really seemed like anything was wrong, or missing... but I had this song, that I knew from somewhere I couldn't place. I always just thought it must have been a lullaby from when I was a baby. But, when I first went to Madain Sari, and I saw everything there... then all the memories came back... it was like there was a missing piece of me that I'd suddenly found. I hadn't noticed there was an emptiness, until I'd filled it. But even after that... I never thought much about being a summoner."
She cast her gaze down into the sand, reached down and let a handful of grains sift through her fingers. "It was just me and Eiko. I didn't remember much of what it meant to be a summoner, and she was so young, she'd barely been taught much. We were in the same boat, really. But it meant everything, just knowing we weren't alone. And now, with you, and Yuna, and Terra, and all the others... it's so different now. It's almost like those foggy memories of when I was a little girl, playing in the water, watching the grown-ups drawing things on the Eidolon wall..."
