Suteki Da Ne~ Afterwards
Characters: Everyone invited and anyone who can justify being in Luca on the day of the ceremony (mad clowns not allowed)
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: After the ceremony!
Location: Luca, southern beach
Date: Friday, June 18, 1804
Warnings: We'll have to wait and see
In order to avoid Kefka showing up and destroying the place, Yuna and Tidus had kept the date and the preparations, on the whole, very on the down-low. So far Kefka hadn't actually gone to Luca, that they knew of, and neither of them had made big announcements about the date over the network. Most of the city knew, of course, as well as their friends, but they hoped that was as far as it had gone. Still, most of the wedding party had weapons in reserve, and the guests probably did, too.
But the wedding of a High Summoner was a Big Deal to native Spirans, and the fact that her groom was her Guardian and a skilled Blitzball player definitely drew more interest, leading many of the people in the city who hadn't gotten invitations to show up anyway just to try and catch a glimpse. There was no formal reception, but a large spread of food had been set up down the beach just a little ways, guarded from thieves and onlookers by more Blitz players until the ceremony was actually over. There was also a small musical group off to the side, playing various melodies for whomever wanted to dance. It was a social gathering, mainly, a time to talk and mingle, meet new friends and say hello to old ones, and maybe play a prank or two.
Just not on the newlyweds, please.
((ooc: If you can justify being in Luca, you can come to the party, invite or no. Since there's no real separation of areas, there will be no location subthreads. Just go ahead and tag away! Threadhopping and ninjatagging encouraged!))

It still hadn't quite sunk in that they were married, and Tidus still seemed a little in a daze, though he couldn't seem to stop smiling for some reason...

At some point, though, she noticed them relatively free and thus made her way over, a small smile on her lips.

Going for the opposite approach to Garnet and Zidane's wedding, Rydia's dress (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/evilhippygoddess/17493_Stylish-Sleeveless-Crinkled-C.jpg) was light and loose, of various shades of green and with a hem that barely brushed her knees. It would probably be more scandalous in other parts of Gaia, but it was perfect for the warm weather and a beach reception. Her hair was mostly loose, though small braids and combs kept it in check, hopefully preventing the ocean breeze from turning into a mess.
The food spread was of minor interest to her, but she would get to that later. Other things were on her mind, at the moment; namely, dancing and friends. So, she'll greet and chatter with anyone who comes her way, and seeing about snagging a dance with a certain ninja.

He noticed that spread of food as well, but who could think about that when Rydia was dressed as such. Tossing a smile her way, he closed the distance between them.

The city of Luca was unlike anything she'd ever seen, and she'd been as awed flying into the city as she had been the first time she'd ever set foot outside of Alexandria. She'd been hard pressed not to let her curiosity run her all over the city right then and there. The wedding itself, was lovely; so much more intimate and relaxed than any event she'd ever attended. It reminded her more of a festival than some stiff-lipped social. In favor of blending in with the crowds and the more relaxed feel of the festivities, Dagger had elected to dress down for the occasion; a simple peasant-style dress, with a buttery-yellow tied skirt, white blouse, and a brown leather lace-up bodice. Her long dark hair was worn down, clipped just at the bottom with her old teal-blue barrette.
At the moment, she was engaged in a very quiet indulgence of a guilty pleasure-- she'd cast off her shoes and was ever-so-discretely wiggling her toes in the sand. She couldn't recall the last time she'd been on a beach.

"Ooh, that's a good idea." Rydia approached Dagger from behind, coming to stand at her side. Her sandals were beginning to pinch, so she slipped them off, enjoying the sand as well. She flashed a bright smile at her friend and then tilted her face up to the passing breeze with a content sigh. "Lovely, isn't it? I could stay out here all day, wedding or not."

I'm sorry about being so late. We can wrap this up or keep going, whichever you like.
You can make it up to me by having Garnet run into Edge. XD
Excellent! : D

Given that this was a much less formal affair than she was used to attending in Gaia, Mjrn was able to get away with wearing a more revealing gown (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/evilhippygoddess/Strapless-Short-Prom-dress-1.jpg). It was simple and deep blue, short enough to reveal quite a lot of her long legs. Keeping the postscript of the invitation in mind, Mjrn also chose it for freedom of movement, and also arranged for her spear to be kept nearby. If there was trouble, she would not be caught off-guard.
But for now, her mind was on more pleasant things. She scanned the crowd, looking for both Tidus and Yuna, to congratulate them, and for any other familiar faces along the way. It was time to be social.

She looked amazing! Blue really suited her, and the dress really showed her legs off in the best possible way. It made him feel really short when he was next to her, but he didn't mind so much.
"Mjrn. You look beautiful."

...at least there was some consolation that Cecil and Rosa apparently weren't going to have one anytime soon. Hopefully they'd be happy enough with what they had at home.
As always, he stayed on the fringe of everything, hoping he could avoid much contact. He would stay for a little while longer and then leave. The beach was at least an outdoor setting, the main thing he could appreciate about this event.

Which was why she'd suddenly pop up in Kain's field of vision, giving him a bright smile and a big wave.
"Hi there!"

But hey, he was here and so she was going to head over and say hello. Approaching, she pretended that he hadn't annoyed her earlier and flashed a smile. "I didn't think to see you here, Kain. If I'd known, I could have picked you up." Then again...she had Edge, so it was probably just as well that it didn't happen.

So she smiled, but weakly, and it was obvious to anyone who knew her that Rinoa was less than her usual bubbly self. Being surrounded by people wasn't helping all that much that now. It made her more acutely aware of how alone she was.
She stopped near the food spread and looked around. Squall would have skulked in that corner over there. Rinoa stared at the spot until her eyes watered and she almost thought that she could see a shadow there...

Tifa was beginning to feel restless again. It was odd; all she really wanted was to settle down with her family in peace, but these disappearances were constant reminders of how wrong things were in Gaia. She wondered whether Tidus and Yuna were afraid of that happening.
Of course it wasn't on their minds now. Why would it be? Everyone was celebrating and it was about time that Tifa relaxed and enjoyed herself too. So she wandered into the crowd, looking for familiar faces.

The party was a little overwhelming to himself but he made do for now. After all, Minwu was running around somewhere and he doubted that the wizard would want to stay for long.

He held a cup of juice in his hand, taking a sip as he watched the sun dance on the waves. He really liked the beach. It was so different to somewhere like Midgar or Edge. It made him feel happy to see.

That one call of his name was the only warning Denzel would get before Eiko came rushing up, as much as she could in heavy traditional summoner robes, to give him a huge hug. "I missed you! Did you see me?"
