Protecting My Devotion - Group 20

Characters: Denzel, Room for more
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: What's worth fighting for.
Location: Memoria
Date: 11th March, 1805.
Warnings: None yet.

The flash had taken Denzel by surprise. It'd been so blindingly bright that he'd had to cover his eyes. One minute he had been playing in the garden with Rex, and the next he was in ...Edge? What the... had he gone home? Had Gaia sent him back? Aw man, had Gaia left Rex behind? What about the others? They had to be here! Tifa, Cloud, Marlene. They had to be here, they just had to!!

He broke into a slow jog, only he didn't run into his family, he ran into a commotion by the memorial monument. Kids, all stood around, not moving, not focusing, just... standing. And black shadowy creatures were running around and a giant dragon!

Denzel couldn't shake the feeling that he'd seen this before somewhere. His thoughts were shaken when he saw an unconscious Tifa in the path of the large, angry, people-eating dragon... thing...! His blood boiled. No one hurt his family!! Not even dragons! He would die to protect them if he had to, and considering the size and strength of the beast it was quite a likely outcome!

Even so, he charged at it, growling with as much hatred and anger as a young boy could muster. But the dragon and Tifa and even the children seemed to melt away before him… Oh no... He wasn’t home. He was inside that place again, that... Memoria place. Only this time he seemed to be alone. This time there was no Irvine to hold his hand keep him company. "Is there anyone else here? Anyone??"

Rughadjeen will also be tagging in, as a heads up /o/

After everything that had happened thus far on Gaia, it came as something of a surprise to Tseng to find the flash of light bringing him back to a place he knew all too well. Edge. A place he might call home, if he were still the sort to believe in homes. And yet, for all the familiarity there was something odd in it. It was empty. Emptier than he had ever seen it, and emptier than he wished to ever see it.

Something was dreadfully wrong here, and while he couldn't put his finger on it was almost enough to unnerve him.

"You aren't alone."

The voice might well be unfamiliar to Denzel, but the suit he wore was likely to be all too familiar.
