I'm Packing Up My Bags and I'm a Head Out West...

Summary: Irvine is surprised he's seen so many of his old friends, and hopefully to actually see them in person. But will he also meet others curious by the cowboy in a Library

The library was an interesting place, a place where the studious study and the wandering passer by looks at other students. This was a place where people could use the community computers as their own personal work stations, or a device to slack off and watch videos on the network, or check up on news. The cowboy was none of these things as he explored the network he was on thanks to the device the moogles gave him. Apparently all the computers were down and not responding to anything, still perfectly good seats for Irvine to put his feet up on. Strangely enough this day was just crazy and insane for him, mainly because waking up in a strange new world could cause anyone to flip out. The cowboy leaned back on the console's chair then got up and stretched his legs, then finally sitting back down. He wasn't always this fidgety, I mean hell he's a sharpshooter, but something was odd about his situation. He felt something was bad about all of this, but mainly it was worry about the people he knew were here...his friends. Irvine shook his head and thought to himself, "Come on Kinneas, you heard how Selphie, Rin, Nida, and Squall are and they seem like they're okay...not too sure about Squall seeing how that guy is a brick wall when it comes to emotions, but Selphie, Nida and Rin seem alright...and that's what counts." Shaking his head a bit he got and walked towards the entrance of the library, maybe some water or pop will make him less crazy

Rinoa led the way, answering as she started walking towards the dorms. "No, but I think the room opposite Nida is free; you can snag that one. Or - hey, do you wanna have your old room? If it's not taken."

Irvine followed her and replied, "So you guys are just stealing rooms left and right? Not very nice of everyone, but seeing how we're in another place, guess that makes sense." Irvine then thought about the second question and replied, "If it's available, I'll snag it...hopefully all the stuff I left is there." Irvine was looking around, seeing the old walls, and remembering the last time he was in this place.

"Well, it was sort of ours to begin with. Nearest thing we've got to home in this place, right?"

She stopped, looking around. "Left or right... Ah, why do these corridors all look the same?"

"Guess you got a point there, I mean so many people are scattered, at least we're some place where know something about it," he said trying to understand the actions done by them.

He saw Rinoa looking puzzled by the corridors, in which Irvine looked around and stated, "Let's go to my room, and see if it's still vacant." Irvine then walked ahead of Rinoa and added, "I'll lead the way."

Rinoa nodded, tagging along after him. "It's so lucky that you ended up here. You know where I woke up, when I first got here? The Ice Cavern! I was all on my own in a cave full of monsters and it was freezing."

Irvine looked around the corridors he was around and turned some corners. He heard Rinoa and replied, "Ouch, well you managed to come out in one piece I suppose, and that's brighter side of it. Still, seems like everyone had a rough time adapting to some places."

Irvine turned another corner and saw the corridor with a blank look on his face. He scratched the back of his head trying to pick a path, all the while in his head one thought echoed in his mind.

"Crap...I'm lost."

"Well, Squall and Selphie rescued me. But it was a pretty rude introduction to Gaia!"

Rinoa noticed Irvine scratch his head and the look on his face. She knew that expression all too well. Putting her hands on her hips, she leaned towards him.

"So which way is it again? I thought you knew this place like the back of your hand."

Irvine turned back with a nervous grin and replied, "Of course I do...not like we're lost in this place, that would be silly." Irvine laughed a little bit, before turning away from her again.

He looked to the left, then to the right, then back to the left again, before finally saying, "We go straight...I think."

"Really?" Rinoa followed him, but she was unconvinced. "If you are lost, it's okay to say it, you know."

Irvine looked back a little nervous at Rinoa and was about to say something when suddenly he noticed something familiar. When he looked back to his front he got an expression of joy and happiness as he blurted out, "Alright, I guessed!" He then held his tongue and turned back to Rinoa and said, "I mean...not like we were lost."

He then turned a few corners and stopped in front of a door and said, "Well this is it, my old room...you know if anyone lives in here?" Better to ask Rinoa first rather than barge in and see someone else in there.

Rinoa laughed. "Hey, we got there, didn't we?"

She leaned against the wall and shrugged, her eyes twinkling. She wasn't as familiar with the boys' dormitories. "I don't know. Why don't you knock and find out?"

Well that didn't help much. Irvine then knocked on the door once, then a second time. He then opened the door and slowly walked into his room and called out, "Hello? Anyone in her-" Before he could finish, Irvine tripped and fell right onto the floor, almost face first. He slowly got and replied, "Ow...that was brilliant of you Kinneas."

Wow, Selphie's clumsiness must be rubbing off him. Trying to cover her giggling, Rinoa stepped after him.

"Are you okay?"

Irvine sprung back to his feet and trying to play off as if nothing happened and replied, "Yep, perfectly fine!" He then looked around and saw the room was almost unchanged when he left, certain books and papers around as well as well as some training weapons he used to practice with. Irvine then turned to Rinoa and replied, "Seems like everything is in order here...kinda weird though." He looked to the side and replied, "Feel like this room has changed, but in an eerie sorta way, but maybe that's just me."

He then turned to Rinoa and replied, "Alright then, Rinoa, what's next on the agenda?"

"I guess you'd know," Rinoa replied, slightly spooked by Irvine's words.

She relaxed at his next question; that was more familiar. "I guess you'll wanna report to Squall? And come eat with us in the cafeteria too. But if you wanna take a break before then, that's okay. You know, before Squall dumps a load of work on you."

Irvine looked at her and replied, "Well, I think I'm pretty well rested, plus knowing Squall, he probably wouldn't like it too much if I slacked off." He then grinned looking at his room.

But almost instantaneous, he looked down and said in a very solemn tone, "Hey Rin? Can I ask you something? And I want the honest truth."

Rinoa was curious. "What is it?"

Irvine then turned to her and asked, "The truth...you ever think we'll be able to go back home?" Irvine then shook his head and stated, "I know it seems silly, I mean for me as long as you guys are here and are safe, I'm comfortable anywhere...it's just...I don't know."

He then laughed as he stated, "I bet you had the same questions running through your head when you came into this world too huh?"

"The truth... The truth is, I don't know." Rinoa paused for a long moment. She hadn't been quite sure how she felt until she spoke. "But I believe in Squall, and you guys, and everyone who's working hard to find a way... There's gotta be a way, there just has to be."

She smiled. "Yeah. I don't know, this world isn't so bad. If Quistis and Zell were here too, I think I'd be happy to stay. Oh, and Angelo of course. In a way, I feel lighter here. Nobody else knows what I am... nobody thinks I'm dangerous."

Irvine grinned and replied, "You're right...where there's a will, there's a way...heh, thanks Rin."

When Rinoa said her being dangerous, he quickly turned to her and replied, "You never were dangerous Rin, least to us...no matter what."

"Well, not here," Rinoa answered cheerfully, brushing off the comment. "I'm a black mage now. Pretty cool, huh? I even bought the outfit."

Irvine grinned and replied, "Black Mage huh?" He then looked at her, tilting his head to the left and to the right, almost like examining her. He then looked at her with a smirk and shaking his head and said, "I dunno, I don't see it..."

"Hmph!" Rinoa placed her hands on her hips. "I'll put on my pointy hat and cast Blizzard on you, how about that?"

"Pointy...hat?" Irvine blinked for a minute trying to picture Rinoa in a pointy hat. Then a big wide grin came on his face, as he began to laugh a little. He managed to say through it, "Sorry, sorry, it's just you in a pointy hat is just..." Irvine then chuckled a little more, still picturing it.

"Ohh... you don't think I'd look good in a hat?"
