Characters: Cecil and Mjrn
Progress: In progress
Summary: Wandering around Treno for the time being.
Location: Treno
Date: May, 1803
Warnings: Nah.

After finally reuniting with Rosa, Cecil was in a very good mood, and it showed on his face. He wasn't smiling as foolishly as he was during their last few days in Alexandria, but a smile was still there nevertheless. Right now Cecil was out and about on his own, exploring the new city of Treno, meandering with no real set direction in mind. He'd already seen the Auction House and the Card Stadium, and was now walking alongside a lake. It was lovely. He couldn't help but stop and gaze at it for a little while.

...Perhaps he'd pay the Auction House another visit after all. Kain apparently had found himself a new weapon there. Maybe he could surprise Rosa with a gift later when he returned to the inn they were staying at.

Mjrn was wandering in the direction of the Auction House, though she hadn't specifically thought to pay it a visit. Too much was on her mind and since everyone was resting or reuniting at the inn, she decided to take a walk. Now that she knew the layout of the city and to be wary of certain sections, the young Viera was not worried about venturing forth.

Upon reaching a lake, Mjrn paused and stared outward. She didn't think it quite compared to the Alexandria lake at sunset, but it was still a welcome sight, nonetheless. Lingering near it was a tempting thought, and Mjrn sat down at a bench. A casual glance around revealed someone nearby, someone familiar. Immediately, she rose from her seat and headed over. "Cecil!"

Mjrn smiled, pausing upon reaching him. "This is an unexpected pleasure. I thought you were still in Alexandria! ...and I am well." Slight faltering there, but she soon moves on from that, not wishing to be impose. "What brings you to Treno?"

"It is a strange city, is it not? That it is night always...I wonder how it is possible, but no one can tell me." Mjrn shrugged, peering around them in wonder at the city before settling her gaze on Cecil once more, curiosity diverting her to another topic. Always did she have questions, but at least Cecil hadn't minded before. She hoped that would be true again. "A companion from home, I assume?"

The smile that formed at his response was tinged with a bit of wistfulness, but genuine nonetheless. "I see. It is fortunate that what brought you to Gaia brought you both. Perhaps there would be a convenient time to meet her, later? She must be as nice as you."

At that, Mjrn nodded immediately. "Of course. You may ask all that you wish." She did not say this to most, but there was something about Cecil that made her certain she could trust him, even if their past interactions had not solidified that.

That gave Mjrn pause, but she wondered if Cecil might understand. It was worth the risk in her view. "...do you have family, Cecil? My sisters are in this world, also. Hume friends tell me I should be happy about this and I am...but they do not understand. Traveling to a new world does not change all."

She was a little relieved to have told him about the Wood and what happens to Viera who leave it earlier, for that spared her the explanation now. "Even here, I am not certain we cannot truly be family again. I wish to be independent regardless, but...it is hard, remembering us as we once were."

That caught Mjrn's attention and her eyes widened as she listened to his story, both touched that he chose to share it with her and horrified at mention of what his brother had done. She forgot about her own family issues, at least for the moment.

"Why would your brother do this?! To endure such loss...should that not bring family closer?" She paused after her outburst, confused. It wasn't as though Jote losing the Wood had caused her to suddenly change her mind, but...that was a Viera issue. Mjrn couldn't help but think that humes did not have as much excuse, without that issue to separate them.
