[thread;open]

Characters: Vayne and OPEN to everyone who went to Wutai
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: With Kefka already vanished and a small army of would be defenders present, Vayne extends his hospitality by hosting them all.
Location: Wutai
Date: January, 1804
Warnings: Probably political schmoozing out the nose. Beyond that, nothing comes to mind.
Other: Feel free to treat this like you would a party event. There's a lot of us in Wutai, so go ahead and start subthreads to interact with each other as well as Vayne. My inbox can handle it. RAWR!

To put it blunty, Vayne was pissed. Gabranth had dawdled in returning to Wutai, leaving it shorthanded on defenders. Larsa had arrived, prepared to battle, and without the mercenaries paid to guard him. Ondore was off blathering about Ivalice politics in the the thinly veiled guise of fiction. All of these irritations were matters that he would normally treat as a challenge to be overcome, but that madman Kefka had to go and torch the place.  Not that he particularly cared in the slightest, but the village was a means to an end. Still, the Solidor was already calculating how to turn this to his benefit.  In fact, in objective reasoning, while it hindered one aspect of his planning, it served to far advance others strategies he had not counted on being able to employ. Yes, this would be beneficial in the end. Yet he was angered, even if his stoic demeanor did not reveal it.

And Vayne Solidor angered was a dangerous force indeed.

Still, there was a small army of defenders who had presented themselves to face off with the false god in facepaint. With a good portion of the town smoldering and in ashes, it was necessary and prudent that he accomodate them all within his own residence. Fortunately, that had been spared. So he put on the facade of the deeply concerned and caring leader, suffering the harm to his protectorate as a personal blow, and invited them all to stay with him, as thanks for their efforts. Now the task before him was to win over them all, whilst coordinating and delegating others to find shelter for the newly homeless and to begin the repair efforts.

Unlike many of the other would-be heroes, the doctor was actually grateful that the madman left when he did after secretly conspiring with the lunatic over the network. After his brief talk with Ffamran, Cidolfus was honestly not sure what to think about Kefka and his lunacy. It seemed as if the clownish jester was trying his best to ruin the good doctor's cover. He saw no reason as to why Kefka would want to torch Wutai but the fool managed to do so which greatly agitated Lord Vayne.

Dr. Cidolfus hoped that in the future, he could introduce Kefka to elder Solidor but now that dream was completely dash; scattered to the four winds. It was perhaps this fact that made Cidolfus so irritable this evening but whatever the reason, the doctor managed to fake a genial smile here and there, as he welcomed these stalwart fools.

"Ah, if it isn't the little Solidor." Dr. Cid said with a wan smile as he approached the regal youth. "Long time no see!"

It wasn't until he approached a little closer that Cidolfus realized exactly how much older Larsa is since he last seen him. The little Solidor was no longer a little boy anymore but rather a young man of nearly impressive height. It was quite bewitching to stare into the face of an older Larsa Ferrinas Solidor, especially since the youth looked eerily similar to his much older brother. No wonder Vayne seems to be adamant about keeping his younger brother on a leash, this young man could easily become a nuisance now that he was no longer a child.

"My, my...how long have I been away?" The doctor commented idly as he actually took off his spectacles for a moment to make sure he was seeing correctly. "Ah, I apologize for my rudeness, my lord. Yes, I am here to show my support for Vayne and Wutai alike. It is a shame that such a tragedy took place here." Like Vayne, the doctor didn't give a rat's ass about these gutter-churls here in Wutai. However, to voice such would only spawn animosity between him and the younger and more caring Solidor. So of course, the doctor decided to hold his tongue around Larsa.

“I am grateful for how many volunteers rushed to Wutai but it seems as if the madman is nowhere nearby.”
