In order to avoid Kefka showing up and destroying the place, Yuna and Tidus had kept the date and the preparations, on the whole, very on the down-low. So far Kefka hadn't actually gone to Luca, that they knew of, and neither of them had made big announcements about the date over the network. Most of the city knew, of course, as well as their friends, but they hoped that was as far as it had gone. Still, most of the wedding party had weapons in reserve, and the guests probably did, too.

But the wedding of a High Summoner was a Big Deal to native Spirans, and the fact that her groom was her Guardian and a skilled Blitzball player definitely drew more interest, leading many of the people in the city who hadn't gotten invitations to show up anyway just to try and catch a glimpse. There was no formal reception, but a large spread of food had been set up down the beach just a little ways, guarded from thieves and onlookers by more Blitz players until the ceremony was actually over. There was also a small musical group off to the side, playing various melodies for whomever wanted to dance. It was a social gathering, mainly, a time to talk and mingle, meet new friends and say hello to old ones, and maybe play a prank or two.

Just not on the newlyweds, please.

Despite the fact that Yuna was no longer a member of Yevon (and Tidus had never been one to begin with), they'd chosen to base their wedding along those lines, as it was the one they, and the people around them, were most familiar with. This one, though, wouldn't turn out the way Yuna's first ceremony had, and thank god for that. The air in general was less formal, more relaxed, and there was no sense of heavy religion about the thing, for the most part.

Braska was officiating, while Eiko had insisted on "helping," which Tidus had reluctantly given into. They were waiting at the front, on a wooden platform that had been constructed for this purpose, in front of a screen constructed of draping fabrics and various flowers and greenery that grew around Luca. Benches had been set out in the sand to seat the guests in a semicircle, cut into three pieces by the two aisles that were left open for the bride and groom (and their supporters) to make their way down at the start of the ceremony. The weather had cooperated, for once, as it was a bright and sunny day, though the wind would gust sometimes rather unexpectedly.

After getting settled back in, Lulu figured it was time to get Vidina outside. She wanted him to get used to it being calm. He deserved as much, after everything that happened since they had gotten there. Grabbing a small blanket, Lulu set it down outside, in front of the house Tidus and Yuna shared. They were kind enough to let her stay there for now, but she knew that she couldn't stay there forever. It would be rude of her.

Taking up a spot on the blanket, she set Vidina down in front of her. Immediately, he was squirming. Lulu laughs quietly to herself. He was growing up so quickly, even in the month they had been here. Had it already been a month? While Vidina sat occupied by playing with his feet, Lulu watched, thinking how much he looked like his father.

Notes: Reception time! Party-Style tagging -- ninja tagging and thread-crashing is encouraged. For anyone who was invited personally (See the list of those who received an invitation), you've all been informed upon arriving at the palace and having your name checked against the list, that there will be accomidations made for you at the palace for staying overnight.

For those who had attended Garnet's Birthday party the previous summer, the sight would have been a familliar one -- the grand ballroom had been reconstructed since the disaster, and was once again ready to host a celebration. The decorations this time were beautiful and elegant, but noteably subdued; the same band of musicians had set up to one side of the floor, ready to provide the score for the evening. The largest different, however, lay in the fact that guests were first directed to another adjoining hall, where long banquest tables had been set up -- each place was set with plates, utensilves, napkins, and name cards -- yes, their seats had been chosen for them, with invitees being sat near their guests (if they brought them), and everyone else placed where needed. The kitchen staff were busy as could be, and the smells filtered through the halls. Although not as extravagant as one might have expected of a royal wedding, the night promised to be full of drinking, dancing, and music; a night Alexandria wouldn't soon forget.

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects.

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.
