[Thread; Semi-open]

Characters: Rosa and anyone in Troia who helped with the pirate situation
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: Rosa thanks everyone for coming to her aid
Location: Troia
Date: Early Feb
Warnings: Vayne being a creeper? None really for now

Cecil's departure had very nearly set Rosa's world upside down. In fact, she had come to wonder how she was still upright. Rydia's arrival had been a blessing, as the summoner had practically forced her to sleep and even though she'd slept fitfully, at least she'd rested some. Something was always better than nothing.

She'd done what she could for the people of Troia, following Vayne's strategical suggestions thoroughly. Once reinforcements had arrived, the pirates had been conquered and Rosa could now rest easily. As soon as she had finished patching up those who had been injured in the subsequent battles and made sure the citizens were all right still, Rosa knew she needed to thank those who had come to her aid. Without them, she and the town of Troia would have been overrun in a matter of minutes.

So, she'd issued an order for everyone to either meet in the middle of the town or to allow her to find them. With any luck at all, those who had assisted her would allow her this one final request.

((OOC: feel free to create separate threads or whatever you guys feel like doing. If you need a Rosa specifically, specify that you're looking for her, or I'll just assume she found them to thank them.))

Kain happened to notice as the man strode by. He hadn't really met him, only seeing him at a distance at some earlier point. Kain had been much too involved with his own part in the midst of battle to directly speak with him until now. He didn't even feel that he had much to say, aside from being grateful for how much he'd helped Rosa particularly...

"Your assistance was appreciated, Lord Vayne."

Vayne shook his head to forestall further thanks. Internally, he was quite pleased to at last be acknowledged for his deeds, but knew too well that humility was a necessary measure to ensure future accolades of greater worth. "I am only pleased that I was able to be of help here, and that peace has been restored. You too played a part here, did you not?"

"Indeed, but what you did for ... for the people of Troia..." Kain caught himself before uttering Rosa's name, finding it hard not to given how the events at Memoria had gone in the not so distant past. He nodded after that. "I fought in the front lines of battle. This is one of the lands of my homeworld..."

There was a short nod of acknowledgment from Vayne. "Valiant work to be sure, and worthy of laud. I fear my own expertise lies more in strategy than in first-hand execution. Mine is the less glory-filled role to play." He glanced over to where Rosa milled about still healing the injured. "As is Rosa's. How bravely she toils in the face of her loss, and yet few will ever acknowledge her deeds."

Kain nodded understanding. Then turned his own attention toward Rosa, his gaze fixating on her for an unusually long time before he snapped himself out of his thoughts and forced himself to look away from her. "Indeed. She of all people deserves the credit..."

Well that was interesting. Vayne noticed the lengthy time Kain spent watching Rosa. Something intriguing was happening here that he was not aware of and it piqued his interest. "Sadly, her work has only just begun. I intend to stay as and assist as long as she is in need." Another glance spared in her direction, and Vayne's thoughts took on a far more somber bent. "Too often those who deserve the most credit receive none at all. Silent work that goes unnoticed until it is no more."

"How... considerate of you." Thoughts of Rosa were occupying Kain's mind a little too much at the moment, and he had to force himself to continue looking away from her. There was little else he could do for her, himself... which only made Kain feel more inadequate. He sighed. "She will be grateful, I'm certain..."
