Indeed he understood. His own commitment to Fran might've been a far cry for the type of bond Ashe and Rasler held but he was still commited to his Viera partner. His trust in her was the deepest and, whilst he trusted others to an extent, he would take Fran's word over any other. She was who he loved most and, even if they would never truly be, he would hold that love for her for he remainder of his life. Not that he'd ever tell anyone that.
