Once they were inside, Balthier ordered an ale and 'whatever the lady wants' from a barmaid before pulling out a chair for Penelo at the table furthest from the door. He believed they needed privacy for this, especially if she was going to cry. He didn't handle that at the best of times. Crying in public would be a new level of difficult.
