Zidane fell briefly silent once more, giving Fran's words the due consideration they deserved. His smile became more subdued, expression sobering to show her that he took this seriously. Not gravely seriously, but it was genuinely what he believed in and how he saw the world. And, for better or for worse, it was how he lived his life. Through it, he'd gained and he'd lost, he'd done right and he'd done wrong. It wasn't perfect, just like Zidane knew he was far from perfect, but it was the best way he knew how to live.
"Hmm..." he mused aloud, tail thumping dully against a chair leg out of force of habit as he gave serious thought to his next words, trying to string them together in a way that made the most sense. "I don't think it's the risk, per se. More like... The mystery. Like the story I just told you'll never be quite as gripping again, because you already know the end. When you know where something is going, following through on it becomes... going through the motions, y'know? But diving into the unknown'll never stop being thrilling no matter how many times you do it. Change is scary though, I think. For everyone. Not having the future planned too. So the risk is definitely part of it, but I'm someone who chases mystery."
