Event: Eiko's Birthday Ball

Characters: OPEN to all party guests
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: A big party for a small girl. Yep, it's Eiko's birthday and she's having a ball.
Location: Lindblum Grand Castle
Date: March 21st, 1804
Warnings: N/A so far

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects.

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.

[ooc: Don't worry if you didn't comment to Regent Cid's earlier post requesting tickets. Handwaving is just fine if you want to hop in. It's party style - go tag and mingle! Thread jumping and ninja tagging is encouraged.]

[ooc: Eiko has made a very loud announcement about a celebrity couple's engagement. Feel free to overhear, react or congratulate.]

"Two... Edgars? Is one real and one not?" He didn't know what the situation was, but he assumed that one must be an impostor or something. Stepping on someone else's foot accidentally, Cloud mumbled an apology, his gaze falling instantly as he pulled Terra out of the way. Dancing was so horrible! He hated it, because he just couldn't dance like he could fight. At least then he knew what moves to improvise.

Curling his arm around her waist a little tighter, almost for security, he smiled slightly at her, an awkward expression. "How was it at Madain Sari? My kids and Tifa went with Eiko to visit there."

"I would think one of them would have to be, but we haven't figured out which, yet," Terra said this softly, her words a bit stuttered. She was worried that not being able to tell the difference made her a bad friend, in some way. Surely everyone else could tell? But none of them had told her yet, so maybe not...

She made a startled noise when he tugged her away from another pair of dancers, and offered him a reassuring smile. "Maiden Sari was lovely. And please relax, Cloud? This...this is supposed to be fun, right?"

Terra had just managed to get that last word out when suddenly a small overly dressed child bumped into Terra and made her stumble, though she caught herself fairly easily on Cloud. "Oh!"

She turned to peer down confused at the little child, and offered him a reassuring smile. "It's okay, it-" But the little mage was already running off, and she held a hand out towards him as if to get him to stop, her face falling a little. She said as her hand dropped back to her side.

Ugh, it was a Black Mage child. Cloud had his fill of those little guys when he went to fetch Fenrir and he simply glared in its wake before returning his attention back to Terra. "Are you alright?"

He didn't want her to have been hurt by the child, and if she was, he'd find a way to get her patched up. It didn't seem like she was in any pain, though, so he simply kept them dancing in their small space, keeping a watchful eye out for any more manic children on the loose.

"Hmm?" Terra didn't quite seem to hear what Cloud said, though after a moment her gaze quickly turned back to him and she smiled, nodding her head. "Oh, yes, I'm just fine. I wanted to make sure he was okay but...he ran off..." She frowned, looking after the little mage once again.

Wiggling his fingers to tickle her enough to get her attention back, Cloud offered a small smile to his green haired friend. "Kids are resiliant. Don't worry. He's probably playing tag with one of mine. Probably Marlene." She was always the one who got everyone rallied and playing one big game together, even with the Advent Children.

Terra nodded her head in agreement, though agreeing the child probably wasn't hurt didn't mean she didn't want to give him a hug! "It's nice that they can all have so much fun..." Sky Children and Gaian children obviously didn't care one way or the other, as long as they got to play together.

"Oh. You said I could meet her at some point, but I never got to," her gaze turned back to Cloud. "She's here somewhere?"

"Sure you can meet here. She's probably around somewhere." It really did seem that the children were fine with each other and that there wasn't the strange void of native vs sky people like there was with the adults. It made him glad his kids were making so many friends.

Of course, he had no idea where is kids were right then.
