In order to avoid Kefka showing up and destroying the place, Yuna and Tidus had kept the date and the preparations, on the whole, very on the down-low. So far Kefka hadn't actually gone to Luca, that they knew of, and neither of them had made big announcements about the date over the network. Most of the city knew, of course, as well as their friends, but they hoped that was as far as it had gone. Still, most of the wedding party had weapons in reserve, and the guests probably did, too.

But the wedding of a High Summoner was a Big Deal to native Spirans, and the fact that her groom was her Guardian and a skilled Blitzball player definitely drew more interest, leading many of the people in the city who hadn't gotten invitations to show up anyway just to try and catch a glimpse. There was no formal reception, but a large spread of food had been set up down the beach just a little ways, guarded from thieves and onlookers by more Blitz players until the ceremony was actually over. There was also a small musical group off to the side, playing various melodies for whomever wanted to dance. It was a social gathering, mainly, a time to talk and mingle, meet new friends and say hello to old ones, and maybe play a prank or two.

Just not on the newlyweds, please.

Before Kain was able to leave, Edge spied the dragoon from across the room. While not wishing to cause a scene this evening, he could not resist engaging the man for a moment.

"Kain. I'm a little surprised to see you here."

Sigh. Edge was the last person Kain wanted to deal with at the moment, but it seemed he was stuck. Maybe he could keep this short. It would be for the best for them both.

"As am I." He'd been prepared to make excuses not to go, but couldn't bring himself to do so without being guilty.

Edge was enjoying himself enough this evening, that an extended visit with Kain was not something he wished to risk.

"Enjoying yourself? I hear there's some single ladies over that way?"

Just because Edge wasn't going to partake of the delicacies didn't mean he wished them to remain unattended.

'Enjoyment' would be going too far, but Kain wasn't going to bother pointing that out. At Edge's comment, he raised an eyebrow. "I'm surprised you've left any."

...sigh... but none of them were Rosa, and thus, Kain could care less.

Here he was trying to help out an old friend, and Kain had to act like this. "Me leave any?" He lets out a light laugh. "You don't need to worry about me. I've got my eye on Rydia tonight."

Again, he motions towards the ladies, "If you're shy, I can introduce you. They look a little lonely over there."

Siiiiigh. Kain wasn't exactly in the mood to socialize, or have the attention of anyone who didn't interest him. He shook his head. "I'll pass on that opportunity..."

While it didn't totally surprise him, Edge wondered why he'd even bothered attempting to be nice to the cranky. Instead of making a scene however at the reception, Edge flippantly responded with a shrug. "Your loss."

At that, he turned away from the dragoon and watched the party with interest.

As soon as he noticed Edge's attention was drawn away, Kain turned his focus toward the party as well. He cast his glance around to try and find Rosa... at least wanting to see her.
