Characters: Famfrit, Rufus, Adrammelech
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: Famfrit wants the stone Rufus is in possession of, Rufus is having none of it. In the middle of their clash of wills, something wakes.
Location: Rufus's estate, Lindblum Theater district
Date: Forward dated to several hours after Rufus is aware of Tseng's arrival. (Thus a good 2-3 days from now)
Warnings: Violence, language, possible gore, will lock afterward if so.
Leaving the Fang to guard the foyer of the estate since there were no Turks currently present to tend to that task, Rufus settled into the chair behind the desk he'd chosen to work behind for the time being. He had plans to consider and work on and details which needed to be gone over once again to make certain that his plans would succeed, even if a certain foul-mouthed pilot tried to interfere with them via bad mouthing him.
And there was the small addition of new-promised power to take into consideration, as well as just how to properly access and use it. Just grabbing it outright was tempting but while rising to power quickly was pleasant to think of, he knew that such a thing would just lead to an even quicker downfall. Best to take ones time and proceed cautiously as one could in obtaining such a position. Let it be to late for anyone to sabotage his ascent and there would be nothing they could do about it but watch.
As for the fool threatening to remove the so-called "holy stone" from his possession, Rufus would deal with him should the man show his face. Let him face the Fang, four Turks as well as himself and he would quickly wish he'd left well enough alone. Even without his Turks, he was not to be underestimated; he could damn well defend himself without them. If things did get too heated, he thought himself perfectly able to inflict some kind of handicap on anyone foolish enough to attack him so that he could put distance between them and himself long enough for him to call in one or more of his Turks.

Date: 2010-09-30 06:07 am (UTC)Only a mere hume is required to have patience for their bodies are too feeble to produce what they desire. However, a Lucavi has no need for such a virtue for they are not weak or feeble. This was Famfrit's logic as he strolled towards the elaborate mansion ahead. It was the dead of night, not a single mouse stirred on these desolate cobblestone streets. Many of the citizens of Lindblum were too faint of heart to brave the nights anymore. They feared the unknown, they feared the darkness. After the Sorceress' brutal reign, many of Lindblum citizens found themselves within feverish paranoia. All the better for this ardent criminal as he stalked the streets like a panther on the prowl.
Blanketed by the towering shadows, Dr. Cidolfus Demen Bunansa made his grand entrance. This estate was once home to the Marquis of Bhujerba, but he has long vacated from this estate to spend his days at Sky Sea. Little did the Marquis realize that he left one of the sacred stones behind. Grinning to himself as he approached the main entrance of the lavish mansion, the doctor's haggard facade literally fazed through the door like a mere ghost. Famfrit was a being of despair and insanity, but his magick was second to none. It may have been flashier to simply break down the doors with his power, but Famfrit is no brute.
Whistling softly to himself he meandered along the dark foyers, the demon came to a halt once the Stone of Aquarius began to glow. "" He muttered softly. "" While he truly possessed no fondness for the Wroth, he knew that he could not succeed in his mission without. The twelve of them were now down to eleven, all thanks to those heroic fools who killed their brethren. In a bold attempt to gather the stones, Famfrit hoped to find a suitable host for the Wroth and others.

Date: 2010-09-30 06:24 am (UTC)Unfortunately, the noisemaker wasn't anyone the Fang had been introduced to and due to the foreign smell and the way the man was moved through the halls, the beast decided to do as it had been bid to do to strangers in these halls.
Thus it snuck up on the stranger and without any warning other than perhaps the oh so soft sound of it's claws on the floor as it moved, bit the intruder soundly on the vulnerable rear end.

Date: 2010-09-30 07:00 am (UTC)Hopping around like madman for a minute or two, Famfrit soon turned around to punch the damn wolf in the nose. "" Once he managed to shake the beast off him, Famfrit let his temper flare in the form of magicks. A torrent of water engulfed the entire hallway, knocking over chairs and tables as it hurled towards the hound. Once the waves came nearer, they morphed into thousands of silver chains that threatened to wrap themselves around the wolf-dog's form.

Date: 2010-10-01 02:50 am (UTC)Elsewhere in the house, a certain blond president had stood up from his desk and picked up the shotgun leaning against it. Silently checking the ammo within it and the amount of extra he held in the pocket of the jacket he wore, Rufus moved silently toward the door of the study and waited listening for any sign that the fight was still continuing or that the intruder had fled after meeting the Fang.

Date: 2010-10-01 03:57 am (UTC)He paused only once during his trip down the darkened hall and that was to investigate the glimmer of light coming from his vest. Pulling the apparently glowing stone from it's place in his vest pocket, he studied it for a second before palming it in one hand as he continued on down the hall.
Coming to a place where his hall formed a tee with the hall that the fighting was occurring in, Rufus heard the hiss quite clearly without any need to magically make it carry. Standing in entrance of his own hall where it met the other, he held the shotgun up, the hand holding the stone also bracing the short muzzle of the gun as it came to point clearly at the madman's head, the stone's bright light revealing both the blond and the gun nicely.
"Here I am, now either you can leave the way you came or I can remove you my own way. Your choice, of course."

Date: 2010-10-01 05:33 pm (UTC)"" The doctor commanded boldly despite having a shotgun aimed at him. "" He doubted that holding the Fang hostage would do anything to deter this human, but Famfrit did so anyway. The creature was still alive within those watery chains, just barely. With just a flick of his wrist, the poor beast will be ripped apart.

Date: 2010-10-01 07:35 pm (UTC)The moment the older man made his move he would fire at his head and if the fool died then he would have two of the stones it would appear. Of course there was always the option of just firing on the man now and upon his death take the stone anyway...it was a rather tempting thought that.
Justifiable as well, since the man was wanted for the death of one person already and he had broken into his house...it was obvious self-defense. He could even claim ignorance if anyone questioned him about the stones. The man must have left it elsewhere before he had come after him, obviously he didn't have it on him now.

Date: 2010-10-01 08:41 pm (UTC)Right before Rufus’ eyes, the haggard visage of the good doctor began to fade. Water began to pool at their feet once the ghostly entity emerged from the shadows. It was a towering beast, one that was nearly as tall as the walls themselves. Painted in a sickly blue color, the creature possessed hints of bronze etched across its armor-like flesh. The being had no legs, but it still stood tall thanks to its fiendish magick. By the creature’s side was an enormous silver chain that was attached to the equally enormous jug upon its back. Did Rufus have any idea what he just provoked? A devil now stands before him, a demon of unfathomable power and mischief.
“” Famfrit spoke. “” While the creature possessed no eyes, Rufus should be able to feel the malevolent gaze that now lingers upon him.

Date: 2010-10-01 11:33 pm (UTC)"I still say you're not getting what you came for." He replied to it's questions and lifting the shotgun a little higher than it had previously been fired towards the top of the creature just to see what sort of defenses it had more than any actual attempt to take it out. He wasn't even certain it possessed an actual head anymore to aim at, let alone hit and kill it via such a headshot.

Date: 2010-10-02 01:24 am (UTC)"" Famfrit roared as a torrent of water began to spew forth from the magical pitcher. If he had to drown this entire mansion in misery, then so be it. The Lucavi was hell bent retrieving that stone before daybreak.

Date: 2010-10-02 04:53 am (UTC)Coughing what water he'd swallowed up, he looked up toward the direction he'd come from through soaked and clinging blond hair. With that between him and the two viable ground exits that he knew of, he was strained in the way of any retreat which wouldn't run the risk of him injuring himself further on its use. Even if he hadn't lost the damn gun, it would be useless to him as soaked as it no doubt would be by now.
If it wasn't for the fact it was a waste of precious breath, he'd curse the situation soundly. No chance of anyone coming by in the last minute and providing a reprieve either. The unexpected warmth coming from the stone he held so tightly distracted his thoughts and his watch for either more water or the demon following him down the hall. Opening the clenched hand to eye the stone he noted absently the pointed end at the top had broke the skin of his palm due to him holding it so tight, but he didn't think that was the cause of the sudden warmth. It was also glowing about as brightly as it had previously when he'd confronted the thing down the hall, a fact which made him give that direct another quick look.
"God Stone bearer, with me now do treat."
Well. That was unexpected. If it hadn't been for the obvious difference in the voice which spoke, he'd almost think the demon which had attacked him had spoken in another bid for the stone.
"Your spirit and my flesh as one shall merge. Life undying yours forevermore."
"What's the catch?" The words were sarcastic, if a little low and rough sounding. He didn't really expect a reply to the question and even if one had come, he likely would have missed it as his attention shifted from the stone now fairly hoovering over the open palm to the sound of moving chain and something else heavier coming down the hall toward him.
"Your resentment and wrath, their call I heed. And so once more I ask: With me do treat."
It was possible in a manner of thinking that this was how one actually accessed the power the stone was said to have. Which was the entire reason he'd desired to keep the thing in the first place...and also why he was currently listening to something which fully intended to kill him, and seemed rather capable of actually doing it, in order to claim it.
In other words he had pretty much everything to lose if he refused and possibly much to gain if he accepted. Not exactly a hard choice in this situation. "Yes, I'll 'treat' with you."
"Adrammelech, the Wroth, have I been named. Your plea to answer now my only wish."
With little to no warning to the lone other figure in the hall, Famfrit's destination was suddenly filled with a near blinding emerald light, blotting out the sight of the young man who had been kneeling on the floor.

Date: 2010-10-02 05:20 am (UTC)Only Ultima, at her full power, can bring ruin to this realm. She was the most powerful of the Scions of Darkness, as well as the most beautiful being despite her black heart. Eagerly awaiting for the day mankind shall be no more, Famfrit foolishly let his guard down as he approached. The man looked liked a drown rat, unable to rise or barely move. It humored him greatly to see this prideful little man crumble before him. However, once the stone's glow intensified, the behemoth stopped cold in his tracks.
"" The pact was being made between this feeble brat and the stone. "" Spatting the accursed demon's name like a curse, Famfrit was just about to strike until a blast of emerald engulfed Rufus.

Date: 2010-10-02 07:51 pm (UTC)A rumbled sound of displeasure filled the hall as Famfrit went on the offensive. "" Drawing his limbs closer to him, he began building up his own power within his body before releasing the Thundaja spell onto Famfrit's form and vessel.
