[Thread, Open - A Mechanic in Alfitaria]

Summary: Cid has gone over to Alfitaria to fix a tram system, Cause you know, he's pretty good with trains.
Location: Alfitaria

The airship entered the docking bay, as the young mechanic stepped out to look at the marvel of this city. It was much a kin to that he's seen in Lindblum, only more technological in his mind. He was amazed at this sight. Never the less he was ready to help and find this Edge person. The young boy asked one of the attendants there about the tram system, and pointed the way to him. With a toolbox of items handy with him he made his way towards the broken tram, hoping to find the distressed traveler as well as his objective.

It looked like nothing was stopping him from this.

In a way it felt good to get out of Lindblum, he's been so cooped up in that city that he needed some time to travel the world. And just explore and help anywhere he could.

This was going to be one of the first steps Cid had to make in Gaia

Edge was in the process of assigning agents to run chocobo shuttles. While he was hopeful that Cid would be able to repair the shuttle quickly, he couldn't afford to wait for the man. As concerned as he was for the Alfitarians, the welfare of the chocobos was important as well.

"You will allow the chocobos to rest an hour between trips. If that's not good enough for them, they can walk."

It had taken a while around the city, as he noticed chocobos running around ferrying the people. Finally he saw a group of them around one man in the middle he chuckled as he managed to make his way through the others.

"Excuse me, sorry, I was hoping I could..." he quipped before looking at the man in front of him, a joyful smile came across his face as he replied, "You're the man I talked to. Edge was it?" He grinned from ear to ear as he extended his hand out in a part of friendship.

Edge turned quickly at the sound of his name. A smile graced his face when he recognized the man before him.

He took the offered hand, "Cid! I'm glad you're here." Taking a quick look at the operation, he shakes his head. "They should be fine for a while if you'd like to get settled first."

He shook Edge's hand and stated, "I have to say I love this city, it's much like Lindblum only maybe a little bit more advanced." Cid's eyes twinkled at the fact as he looked around the city. Upon hearing Edge's suggestion however, the young mechanic stopping shaking Edge's hand, shook his head and replied, "I can settle later when I load up on supplies for me and Rachael. Right now, number one priority for me is fixing that shuttle."

Determination and motivation filled the boy's face as he looked at Edge and replied, "Faster we get that done, faster I can enjoy myself."

Edge bore a huge grin and breathed a sigh of relief. It was good to know that Cid was going to take care of business and quickly. "Afterwords, what would you like me to tell the cook to prepare for you. He can cook just about anything, provided the ingredients aren't halfway across Gaia!"

A nervous chuckle came from the young mechanic as he stated, "I'm not picky with food, anything will be appreciated. But we can discuss that another time." He was much more interested in how he can fix the shuttle for the people. Machines and helping people, two things he enjoyed doing.

Cid nodded and replied, "So what exactly happened to the shuttle other than smoke coming from it?"

Edge's face showed a deer in the headlights look. "A screeching sound and a pop?" He really didn't know what exactly to tell the man.

A nod as his face was pensive beginning to spout nonsensical techno babble to Edge assuming he would know what he was talking about. Cid blinked before he stated, "Sorry, I tend to go off on a tangent sometimes when I think. I guess the best way to figure out the problem is to see it right?" The young blond, willing to help, stated, "So, lead the way mister...um...sir...um...Edge." He really didn't know how to address people from his world...and it was still awkward to address people from Gaia as well.

"Edge is just fine." He began to lead the way, pointing over towards the shuttle stuck halfway between stops. "They weren't too happy to have to walk home that first day, but I'll keep them out of your way for as long as you need."

He shook his head grinning. "I hope she isn't too much trouble."

He looked at the shuttle, quite interesting to see something like this in a world like Gaia. Upon hearing his question, Cid flipped down his visor and replied with a smirk, "Just leave her to me, and I'll have her running again in no time!" And with that the youth ran towards the shuttle like kid on Christmas Day as he began to take analysis on it.

He put a single hand on the shuttle, almost as if he sympathized with the vessel, like he was meeting some kind of kindred spirit. He began to get to work, entering inside and finding anything he could that would help him with his diagnosis.

Edge gave a satisfied smile as he turned back to the chocobo stop gap. He was confident that Cid would have this taken care of in short order. The only question that lingered was how far into the Alfitarian coffers he should reach to reward the man. He would need to balance his thanks to the young engineer with his responsibility to his people.
