This really wasn't what Celes had had in mind when she'd agreed to go looking for the little girl. She hadn't been really happy about that whole strange marriage thing, but as it appeared to be something that was required for their passage, she'd reluctantly agreed. Of course, then it had come down to the whole who was "marrying" who thing. And that led to unfortunate feelings that Celes really... didn't want to talk about.

But naturally those kinds of feelings never really let things rest and so she left the group to walk alone for a time. On the one hand, she hoped she wouldn't be interrupted. But on the other, she wasn't sure she'd completely mind the company.

For now, though, she walked through the village, admiring its beauty and once magnificent ruins.

Celes hadn't been expecting someone to actually walk up to talk to her, so the voice was greeted with a slightly wary look. Once she saw who it was, she hesitated for only a moment before nodding once. At least it wasn't Locke. Much as she cared for him, she didn't want to have to worry about explaining to him of all people exactly what was bothering her right now. She just wasn't ready yet.

"You don't have to attach a title to my name," she replied, verbally avoiding the general question as she'd answered it silently moments before. "The evening is restless it would seem," was added on a little while after, for no reason other than to keep Rasler from thinking she was too embarrassed to speak with him.

At least she wasn't the only one who was uncomfortable with the whole having to get married thing. Celes sighed slightly and glanced away again, wondering how he'd felt to be a married man and have to deal with this sort of thing with someone he'd never met until they'd begun this journey.

Not that it really mattered that much.

"Mhm..." She gave a noncommittal answer at first, stopping to observe some of the ruins. "Such a custom is strange to those of us who are outsiders. I almost wonder how it got started."

Almost being the key word there.

The slight admonition was like a slap to Celes' face, though she didn't show it. Instead, she continued to walk, trying not to dwell too much on the implications of such a thing.

"It is a custom that will be upheld here, though here alone." She had her honor and she would follow through with what was expected, even demanded, of her, but that didn't mean it was willing or 'legally binding' once they left this continent.

"I would imagine respecting it anywhere else would cause complications."

Celes graced Rasler with a sidelong glance as he mentioned that name. "I take it Ashelia is your wife?" She vaguely remembered Rasler being one of the two who had admitted to already being married.

"It's no trouble. So far, the only ones I know of are Terra and Locke. Both are traveling with us currently. Are there others from your home who reside here?"

A child from another world was to be born in this place? Celes really wasn't sure what to think of that, though she supposed at least it would have parents to care for it. That was something, at least.

"Sounds like congratulations are in order," she murmured softly, glancing away again. The ex-general could also understand why Rasler would classify things as 'an alarming amount,' especially when one considered the kind of things they'd already run into here.

"At least they are not alone." As she had been when she had first arrived here. "If they are allies, they will at least have someone who knows more about this place to help them out."

And if they were foes, proper warnings would ensue, just like ones she would give if Kefka ever turned up.

Celes seemed to understand what was going through his mind. "You'll see her again," she murmured softly. "And soon, I'd imagine. We shouldn't need to remain here for much longer."

After all, what else was there to do here?

Celes offered a nod. "Most likely. At least we'll be traveling again soon." That was something at least.
