[Thread, Log - Irvine and Brother's Rescue Rangers!]

Characters: Irvine, Brother, and the people they rescue!
Progress: Ongoing!
Summary: Irvine and Brother are going to go rescue people in the airship. First Yuna, then Selphie and Balthier, then Rikku, then Fran...if she wants.
Location: Mist and Outer Continent Locations, also the newly appointed Celsius II
Date: November, 1803
Warnings: Not sure if this counts as a warning, but there will be multiple threads. If any of you are traveling with the aforementioned people above, you can jump in, either to cause drama or help the cause! Other than that, have some Brother doing something with Yuna, and Irvine being all happy to see Selphie.

The sky.

Something Irvine loved to look at, just to forget his troubles. When he rode in an airship like the Ragnarok, he couldn't believe the way he was so close to them. Now here in this world he's back amongst them, seeing the world from a high view. He saw the little things that were different from back home. Not the landmarks or the sights...but the clouds and the sky itself. It was...different, but familiar. When Brother was flying the ship, they had a rocky start, but now just looking out, seeing the new world he was in. He felt a sense of calm and relaxation, that gave him that inner peace.

He looked over at Brother and stated, "Alright, buddy, first things first, let's go find that girl of yours!"

Irvine shook his head and stated, "Look, I sometimes do a lot of things with Selphie, but that's because I worry about her and I want to see her happy. I mean you got to be the same way with you and Fran." He sighed and added, "Yea, it sometimes makes me like I'm some loyal lap dog but if it makes her happy, what the hell do I care?"

He chuckled and add, "Dinner? Where, I'm not exactly in my own world, and therefore I have no idea where I could do something fancy like a dinner date. The only place I know is Galbadia Garden and well serving hot-dogs in a cafeteria just doesn't seem right, you know?"

"Put some effort in it, man, you'll never get your girl if you spend your life scraping at heel." Balthier shook his head once again, finding this man's lack of true enthusiasm both infuriating and pathetic. "Of course you want to see her happy, yet she would be at her happiest if you found a backbone."

Shifting to stand, Balthier crossed his arms, giving a shrug. "Do what you will. If you aren't quick enough, however, she'll be gone before you know it. This so called marriage was but a warning. Heed it."

He was right on a lot of things. Backbone is something he needed and the last thing he wanted was to lose Selphie. A sigh escaped him as he stated, "You're right..." He looked away and stated, "Everyone's been telling me to go after her, but..." His thoughts wandered shaking his head, before looking at Balthier with a smirk and added, "Like I said Balthier when it comes to Selphie and the ladies, you don't have to worry about me."

Did he know what to do? No. But did he want Balthier to chuck something harder or bigger at him? No.

"Oh, for heaven's... look, boy, anyone can profess themselves a Ladie's Man. It takes real guts to admit you're in love," he began, pointing an accusatory finger at Irvine a second later. "You, dear sir, are quite clearly smitten by Selphie." Shaking his head, he rolled his eyes. "Stop with your pitiful attempt at male bravado and just tell the girl how you feel."

Then a slight smirk came to his lips. "You tell her, or I shall. And believe me, I shan't paint you in a good light. I think she can do much, much better than you, but the girl has set her sights on the so called cowboy. Either the cowboy ropes himself the girl or someone will take his place."

Harsh words spoken that cut through Irvine's ego. He nodded and replied, "You're right, she can do better than me, a lot better." A simple thought escaped him as he stated, "An angel sent down from heaven, only to look on a man as low as myself." He shook his head and said, "I guess life is funny that way." He was babbling, as if he was having another conversation in his own mind.

He looked at Balthier and stated, "Balthier, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't tell Selphie. I would tell her, but it's different with her. When I say to any other woman the things I say, it's because I don't have the tightness in my chest." He was getting aggravated trying to explain it, he knew what it was he just couldn't find the words to push it out of his mouth. Or maybe he did.

Balthier sighed, crossing his arms. "She deserves to know how you feel, Irvine." The pirate lowered his gaze for a moment, seemingly processing some information or thoughts. "I understand that tightness in your chest," he murmured, lifting his gaze to lock on Irvine's.

"The feeling that she's the most important thing in the world and no matter how hard you try you'll just never be man enough for her, hm?" He tilted his head slightly, his arms tightening over his chest just a little. "The thought that whatever you do you'll never truly be good enough, even if she says you are." Balthier gave a dry laugh. "I understant that feeling well, so take it from someone who has made the mistake. Tell her before you lose her."

He just blinked, he saw the man knew his problems. He didn't question it, he didn't ask with who. He just blinked, then turned away to the side giving a smile. "Balthier," he started, "I don't know how many times people have given me a kick in the right direction. And I know that this will not be the last." A smile came across his face, no cockiness, no arrogance, just a smile. He nodded and added, "I'll head out with Selphie, I would tell her about...how I feel, but in an area like this, priority of the passengers comes first."

He got up and replied, "This angel gave me a chance to find what my heart can really do..." He smirked and added, "and I'm sure as hell not going let it go wondering what if!"
