Characters: Rydia, Terra and Eiko (and Auron)
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: Visting Ramuh
Location: Lindblum Grand Castle, then the Pinnacle Rocks
Date: November 1803, before Rydia departs with Locke
Warnings: TBA

Rydia headed toward the Grand Castle that morning, keeping her pace brisk to ward off the chill as she peered around for green hair on the way. They weren't late, not yet, but the summoner was eager to get going regardless. Ramuh was important to her, and she couldn't wait to see him again, even though the visit was mostly for Terra's sake. Hopefully, the Eidolon would be able to help her.

Then there was the curious matter that Terra had spoken of Ramuh as not recognizing her; would that mean he wouldn't recognize her, either? So far, every other Eidolon she had reunited with had welcomed her warmly, memories of their time in her world being intact even with their history in another. Perhaps Ramuh would be different, for some reason? Would she have to prove herself once again, even though she had earned her right to summon him before? More questions came to mind, causing the normally observant Rydia to begin blocking out her surroundings, the bustle of the morning crowds falling on deaf ears.

Upon entering, she was immediately halted by a castle guard.

"What is your purpose at the castle?"

Rydia inclined her head respectfully. "I am Rydia of Mist, and I came to visit Lady Eiko. Is she available?"

"I will see. Wait here."

The summoner did as requested and took the opportunity to peer around at the lavish decor all around her, hoping that Terra would arrive soon.

Under normal circumstances, Eiko wouldn't have been out of Madain Sari yet. The tribe had rules that summoners could not leave until they were sixteen years of age. Long enough for them to grow some maturity and have a sufficient bond with the eidolons to ensure their safety. All that had changed when an eye in the sky had demolished the village, wiping out the population.

In the back of her mind, Eiko knew that just being out and about was a big enough deal. Yet the temptation to race ahead of the other summoners, and Auron, was too great to resist. "I'll go look. You come too, Auron!"

There were some gaping holes in Eiko's understanding of Spira's summoners, the result of adults not sharing whole stories of how the process worked. But it served to puzzle the child why her guardian was hesitant to join in.
