Characters: Tseng, Elena, Reno and Rude
Progress: Complete
Summary: Regrouping after the Epitaph ordeal
Location: Dali
Date: January 1804
Warnings: Violence, swearing... Turks?

After what his friends had done, and after seeing Cissnei and Yuffie, Reno was in the worst shape imaginable. He was probably in equally as bad a state as when the building had collapsed on him. His nose was bloodied (probably broken), his right eye was blackened, left wrist snapped again, a gash on his stomach, one on his back... yeah, none of that compared to how angry he was.

How Rude and Tseng could turn on him, like they had... it was painful. It was worse than any injury he could get. They were two of his three best friends and getting no answer from them as to why they did that...

Broken wrist hanging at his side, his good hand holding that rather deep wound Yuffie had given him, Reno made his way slowly through Dali, trying to maybe find Elena and see what the Hell had made Rude and Tseng and even Cissnei attack him. He didn't even stick around to wait for the others to get out of the Pyramids.

Reno had lost a lot of blood but he was still standing, despite how oddly grey his skin was going. He wasn't in a good shape. He'd barely escaped death at the hands of his partner and it was a sheer fluke mixed with adrenaline that he'd managed to take Tseng down.

Long story short; Reno didn't trust his partner or boss. They'd tried to kill him. Elena (if she didn't damn well finish him off) was his only ally.

"Mmm..." Elena made a vague sort of noise in response, not really moving much at first. She couldn't imagine accidentally shocking herself. But even then...Reno probably hadn't shocked himself in the spine, so it wouldn't have felt quite like this.

"On the upside," she said absently, shifting a bit, and then rolling over a bit. Was she curling up next to reno more? Yes. Was she moving enough so that he'd stop rubbign her head? Nope!

"There's no remnants or sephiroth clones or reunions here..."

Elena laughed, but it was a quiet, dry laugh that ended in a wince of pain. "Or Jenova could show up. I mean, why not? Dead people keep turning up, right? And she had to be alive at some point..."

Elena wasn't actually sure if that was bad or good...Jenova the creepy cells were bad, but had the being herself been? Well...probably.

"Try to stay still, the potions need time to help..."

"I didn't mean stop rubbing my head," Elena said, her voice mostly joking, as Reno took his hand away to press into his wound. She knew what he was doing...it bothered her, in a sense, because it many ways it was an indication of how limited her field medic training was. It had been enough back home...

But then, they'd had hospitals back home. And doctors. Here, there...just weren't.

"This planet needs a hospital," she said with a sigh.

"Yeah, I know. I've been thinking about that, actually..." Elena had been dwelling on the things she had seen in this world. Lindblum had Steam engines and mist engines, Dollet had actual gasoline cars and electricity and such, and she'd heard rumors of a city that had a coal mine. "All the stuff we need to actually make electricity is here..."

She just wasn't quite sure how to put it all together.

There was a long pause before she answered his question, "a little better." It was mostly a lie. She had a feeling this was going to last for hours, honestly.
