Characters: Rosa and anyone in Troia who helped with the pirate situation
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: Rosa thanks everyone for coming to her aid
Location: Troia
Date: Early Feb
Warnings: Vayne being a creeper? None really for now

Cecil's departure had very nearly set Rosa's world upside down. In fact, she had come to wonder how she was still upright. Rydia's arrival had been a blessing, as the summoner had practically forced her to sleep and even though she'd slept fitfully, at least she'd rested some. Something was always better than nothing.

She'd done what she could for the people of Troia, following Vayne's strategical suggestions thoroughly. Once reinforcements had arrived, the pirates had been conquered and Rosa could now rest easily. As soon as she had finished patching up those who had been injured in the subsequent battles and made sure the citizens were all right still, Rosa knew she needed to thank those who had come to her aid. Without them, she and the town of Troia would have been overrun in a matter of minutes.

So, she'd issued an order for everyone to either meet in the middle of the town or to allow her to find them. With any luck at all, those who had assisted her would allow her this one final request.

((OOC: feel free to create separate threads or whatever you guys feel like doing. If you need a Rosa specifically, specify that you're looking for her, or I'll just assume she found them to thank them.))

There would be time later for Edge to rib Rydia for needing support, but not in the midst of chaos. He wasn't used to keeping his mouth shut, and hoped she would regain her strength before he burst.

Edge immediately became concerned about this talk of meeting more Eidolons, "They don't want to test you again, do they?" He couldn't let her run off and battle Eidolons in her current state.

Rydia shook her head. "I don't think so, no. I didn't even have to fight for that Eidolon. Whatever else she wants to say, it must be important." Her brow furrowed, trying to guess as to what that could be. "Maybe it has to do with that Memoria weirdness that happened just before you arrived." Maybe, but Rydia remembered something else that Anima had said, something that Edge was better off not knowing about. It could be about that, instead....

"You didn't have to?" It was obvious that Edge didn't understand the ways of this new world. From losing Eblan to Cecil's disappearance, life was as crazy as ever.

Edge was a little surprised about Rydia being called to talk to the Eidolon, but shrugged it off as being normal. "Really, who we going to see?"

"I know, it's weird...." Rydia was not completely at ease with the idea of obtaining a summon without fighting it first, but Spira's and Gaia's ways were strange like that. "She's a fayth, and the one who gave me the Spiran Eidolon known as Anima. I met her at the Eidolon Wall in Madain Sari, a summoner town. That's where she'll want to see me."

He was struggling to stay caught up with the influx of information. "A town full of summoners? And She's the one who lives in this town." It seemed the harder he tried to understand everything, the more confused he became. "If you already spoke to her, why do you need to go there?"

"It was full of summoners. Now it's nothing but ruins." Rydia didn't have to say anything about how that compared to Mist, but she knew there was no need. "I think she expended a lot of energy just getting my attention, and couldn't linger in Troia to tell me anything else. At least, that's my guess. I'm not sure how her kind works."

He knew better than to make comparisons to Mist, instead focusing on the hear and now. Irregardless of the power her Eidolons brought forth, he would rather depend on his own strength and skill than another's. Still, if it was important enough to Rydia and this eidolon, he would see her safely there. "Why are we still hanging around Troia then?"

That was a good question, but there were actual reasons for delaying and Rydia sighed, wishing it was that easy. "Thanking the people who helped us is the polite thing to do. Besides, running off and dumping all the aftermath on Rosa's pretty unfair. Another day won't make a difference...but we shouldn't linger beyond that."

She glanced over to Rosa, not bothering to try and hide the worry on her face. Rosa's gentleness often masked the strength she possessed, but Rydia still hated to leave her at such a time as this. That it had to be done didn't diminish that feeling.

Edge followed Rydia's gaze to Rosa. "Rosa's tougher than she looks." While he knew that and believed that, this was also more than any lady should have to experience.

Thinking back on the more mundane, he sighed. "The responsibilities never end."

"Not really, no." Rydia shook her head. She wasn't sure how people like Cecil and Edge and Yang and Edward managed such responsibility day after day. Even in Gaia, they weren't really free of it, not when the only part of home that they had needed defending.

"But I suppose Rosa does have people to help her here, while we're away."

He knew that he should offer to stay back and help Rosa settle Troia. His mind warred with the responsibility of ruling a Kingdom and the chance to see the Lunar Whale again. He couldn't imagine the stress that was being placed on her.

"She knows where her responsibility lies."

Rydia wondered if Edge would volunteer to help Rosa, but she didn't want to force any decision on him. Some small, selfish part of her was glad that he wanted to go with her, even as she worried for her white mage friend. But in all likelihood, the trip shouldn't be that long, anyway.

She glanced back to the crowd, some of which was beginning to disperse. "At least this will die down, soon. I'm almost ready to head back to the castle, unless there's something urgent that needs to be done."

Edge was used to the crowds. This is what castle life was all about. He would always be surrounded by crowds. Rosa's work had just begun. The least he could do was get back to the "party" and help her sort her "guests" before any decided they were going to stay and partake of her gratitude forever. "I should rescue Rosa from her subjects."

Peering at Rosa, Rydia's expression softened. "I'll stick around long enough to help with that, if there's need. It wouldn't feel quite right slipping away before she does."

She allowed herself a moment longer of relaxation before straightening, forcing herself to appear more alert and awake than she felt.

Edge shook his head, "I can take care of this." As worried as he was watching Rosa stand their looking pale and weak, he wasn't about to let Rydia take on the weight of Rosa and Troia. Hoping he could spare her the realities of ruling a kingdom, he encouraged her to get a hot meal, followed by a good night's sleep.

Rydia resisted, at least at first. She worried for Rosa too much, even though Edge apparently knew what he was doing when it came to running castles and the like. Still, she could be partially appeased by a promise to see to Rosa as long as she needed it. Only then, and after seeing that there were no emergency issues to handle, would the summoner depart for sleep.

Edge watched her head off. It took all his self-control not to follow, but it was Rosa that needed his help. He was beginning to wonder if was going to be able to follow Rydia on her search for the Lunar Whale or if he was to be stuck governing Troia. With a final glint in eye from the view he beheld, he turned back to crowd looking to rescue Rosa from whomever was monopolizing her time at the moment.
