Cecil's departure had very nearly set Rosa's world upside down. In fact, she had come to wonder how she was still upright. Rydia's arrival had been a blessing, as the summoner had practically forced her to sleep and even though she'd slept fitfully, at least she'd rested some. Something was always better than nothing.

She'd done what she could for the people of Troia, following Vayne's strategical suggestions thoroughly. Once reinforcements had arrived, the pirates had been conquered and Rosa could now rest easily. As soon as she had finished patching up those who had been injured in the subsequent battles and made sure the citizens were all right still, Rosa knew she needed to thank those who had come to her aid. Without them, she and the town of Troia would have been overrun in a matter of minutes.

So, she'd issued an order for everyone to either meet in the middle of the town or to allow her to find them. With any luck at all, those who had assisted her would allow her this one final request.

And that smile would stay. Kain deserved it as far as Rosa was concerned.

"I believe the worst is through now. I won't ask you to stay any longer than necessary. You should rest soon." She remembered well how tiring battles could be and this one had taken its toll on them all.

He could have hugged her for that expression, that beautiful smile... but he restrained himself as always. It wasn't helping him to move on, dwelling upon her like this, and yet... and yet he simply couldn't make himself move beyond it.

"I can stay as long as I'm needed. I should be capable for some while yet..." Although he did feel that fatigue creeping in, now that the thrill of the battle was largely over.

"If you're certain." Rosa's eyes searched what she could of him, trying to decide if he was being truthful with her or not. She resisted the urge to place a hand on his arm, but she still sent a medium-level healing spell at him, the last she had at the moment, just to be sure he would be all right. She had a few potions and Ethers stored up for just this occasion and they were hidden well within her hip pouch. Within easy reach, but not easily visible. Still, her companions from home should have known that Rosa was always well-prepared.

"Don't wear yourself out, Kain."

Like she was one to talk about that.

Although he wouldn't admit it or even show it very much, Kain really did need that spell. It restored some of his depleted energy and his expression turned grateful in silent thanks.

"I won't... I promise." He stifled a yawn after that. "You should also take some rest, after all of that..."

"I will," Rosa promised with another smile. "They're beginning to calm down." It was true and she knew she'd be resting as soon as she could. "Soon enough, I'll rest."

In other words, Kain shouldn't have need to really worry about her. She was trying to take care of herself. And as much as she didn't want to leave their discussion, she needed to get back to work.

"Perhaps later we can speak more?" It was said hopefully, as she didn't want him to think he needed to leave.

Kain, for his part, felt torn on the thought of parting from her. He wanted to enjoy more time alone... but he knew it was bad for him to think too much about that. Bad to take any of her smiles the wrong way, either. Unfortunately, Memoria had stirred up a lot and those thoughts just made this worse.

"Perhaps so..." He wasn't sure he'd be able to bear staying here for long, as always needing to put distance between himself and his problems. "Inform me at any time if there is more I can do."

"I will." Rosa smiled at Kain again, so very thankful that she had the support of her friends from home. They were invaluable to her and this was fast proving why. "And if you need anything else, I'd be happy to help."

"...Thank you, Rosa..." Kain forced something close to a smile, for her sake, and nodded. "I'll remember that..."

Rosa returned the expression and nodded as well. "You're welcome. Take care, Kain." And with that, she turned away, steeling herself to walk back into the crowd of people waiting for her help and assurance.
