Summary: A big party for a small girl. Yep, it's Eiko's birthday and she's having a ball.

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects. 

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.

Reks' arrival at her side calmed those nerves, even as his quiet words and the touch of his hand caused her lips to curve upward. She had fretted over dress styles and colors all afternoon with Penelo, and now all that seemed so silly. Then again, such effort had obviously paid off....

"Thank you. Penelo was indeed quite helpful, though I cannot speak as to her intent." Faint mischief awoke in those eyes, regardless. "If such is the effect, it was well worth the purchase."

The image Reks provided was so compelling that for a moment, Mjrn almost wished that the ball was nearly ended. Then she came to her senses, though not without a faint shiver. That very interesting moment could wait for a while, only after friends were found, dancing happened and a bit more teasing was aimed at Reks, innocently or not. He would just have to wait, and her look said as much...though it also hinted that such a wait would be well worth it.

That smile lingered as she nodded, squeezing his hand. "Aye, that I would. I believe the refreshments are nearby." There always seemed to be one of those moogles about, and now that Reks was at her side, she was in more of a mood to sample that champagne.

Mjrn ignored the champagne long enough to return the favor...and maybe linger close for a brief moment before remembering propriety. That suggestion prompted a smile tinged with amusement. "An idea worth consideration...though not without a dance or two." And the chance to see some friends, but at the moment, she was purely focused on him.
