Summary: A big party for a small girl. Yep, it's Eiko's birthday and she's having a ball.

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects. 

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.

There's never escape for Kain

As soon as she spotted Kain, Rosa made her way over. It had taken her a little time to notice where Cecil had run off to, mostly because the entire room was crowded now. But eventually, she saw Kain and decided to talk to him if she could. She was wearing a silk blue dress (http://historyshop.piratemerch.com/images/renaissance_gown_882017.jpg), that ripped as she walked.

"Kain. I'm glad you made it."

NEVER! It keeps the mun here happy anyway. XD

Of course, there was one person he was simultaneously hoping and dreading to see... But mostly hoping, because despite how he felt, he did want to be around Rosa at some point of this night. Partially because he owed it to her.

"Rosa..." Kain took in her look and tried to make himself not stare at her. She was as breathtaking as ever. "...I couldn't miss it, for your sake. And Cecil's," he added the last part hastily.

Rosa tilted her head at Kain momentarily before smiling. "I had to be sure you were doing all right. I haven't had the chance to really speak with everyone since the attack on Troia, but now I am feeling much improved. How have you been?"

Kain felt more at ease with her smile. That never failed to have a strong affect on him. He nodded understanding at that, but also felt a slight pang of guilt when she mentioned the attack and her falling unwell afterward. He'd wanted to be there, but at the same time, just... felt his presence was no doubt unwelcome with certain other people.

"I've been... fine. As well as ever. But I'm glad that you feel better. That's a relief..."
