Event: Eiko's Birthday Ball

Summary: A big party for a small girl. Yep, it's Eiko's birthday and she's having a ball.

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects. 

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.

Spotting Mjrn nearby sporting a lovely pale blue gown, Aerith rushed over to greet the girl for she was quite ecstatic to see her here. "Hello Mjrn!" She cheered happily like a jolly nymph. "You look lovely, where did you get the gown? That looks so much more comfortable to wear than this." Aerith complimented before pointing to her overly tight corset. Hoping that she learned her lesson about traditional Gaian wear, the flower girl decided that if she buys another dress that it would be as free flowing as Mjrn's attire today.

"Have you seen Tifa and the others here yet? I don't know if they're coming but they do live right here in Lindblum so...they should be here." Aerith was hoping that her friends were here so she could show off her new gown.

Mjrn startled as a chattering Aerith suddenly appeared, but the girl's presence was far from unwelcome. Indeed, she relaxed as Aerith spoke, glad to have an anchor in all this bright swirl of activity. "I have not seen them yet, no. However, I would not be surprised to find them eventually. So many are in attendance...." She shook her head in amazement. The amount of people was amazing...and a little unnerving, but she tried not to show that.

A smile formed as she got a better look at Aerith's gown. "Comfortable or not, your gown is beautiful. It suits you well...though I do understand the need for less restricting attire." Given her look, she had much the same experience as Aerith earlier and was relieved to find an alternative. "I do not recall the name of the store, though I believe I could find it easily again, if you desire a later visit. Are you accompanied?" Since she couldn't find her own date at the moment, Mjrn realized this could be the case for her as well.

However, as intuitive as Aerith can be, she could tell that Mjrn was feeling a tad overwhelmed by tonight’s massive crowd. That’s why she really didn’t mind lingering here and there until either the Viera’s date appeared, or Mjrn’s anxiety finally dissipated into nothing. She viewed the dark skinned girl as friend, even the though the two barely knew each other. “You’re right! They’ll probably show up eventually.” Aerith replied with her usual cheery smile.

“That would be nice of you! I want to make sure I have another dress in case the Regent decides to throw another ball like this one.” In her mind, the kingdom of Lindblum is the kind of place were you need a few fancy clothes in order to be prepared for the next party, parade or whatever else the Regent may throw. Cid Fabool is a very party-hardy fellow, and so is she.

“Why yes! Delita is my date for tonight, but he keeps running off to join the other wallflowers nearby.”

"Ah, Delita?" Mjrn smiled at that. She had known Delita long enough to feel comfortable in his presence and immediately saw him as a good choice for Aerith's date. "He has been nothing but polite and helpful to me; a true gentleman. However, I hope he does not leave your side overlong."

She smoothed her dress after a brief, accidental jostling from behind. A nod at the mumbled apology and then she focused back on Aerith again. "Aye, there seems to be reason for these events, every few months. When the next shall be, I cannot fathom, but I do not doubt there will be an opportunity to gather again."
