Event: Eiko's Birthday Ball

Summary: A big party for a small girl. Yep, it's Eiko's birthday and she's having a ball.

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects. 

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.

With her cheeks turning a tad rosy from the slight kiss, Aerith wouldn't help but giggle once they made their way towards the dance floor. It was a tad crowded but not overly so since many of the guests were more interested in socializing than dancing. The band was playing to their heart's content performing a tune specially designed to lure the guests towards the dance floor. It was a lively song with a fast-paced tempo worthy of praise from any music lover.

Unsure of how to dance to such a song, Aerith took a glance at some of the couples nearby. They were spinning, spinning like tops within a schoolyard filled with playful children. The dance was a waltz of some kind with a fancy spin or two in-between, something that Aerith never tried to emulate until now. “I hope I don’t stumble…” The flower girl said as a deeper blush crept upon her cheeks.

“You might have to lead.”

"Don't worry, I won't let you fall." Blank tightened his hold just a little, giving Aerith a reassuring smile. "Just relax and have fun, it'll come naturally, if you let it."

He wasn't the world's best dancer by any means, but he was pretty good. A skill that came with being an actor no doubt.

Letting out a tiny giggle, Aerith beamed at Blank as the two of them embark upon what would be an experience of an lifetime. Neither one of them were good dancers, but maybe the thespian’s skills and charms would be good enough to keep her upright. Aerith was a tad clumsily at times, especially since the girl wasn’t exactly very nimble upon her feet like Cloud or Tifa. She was just an average girl minus all the mysticism that circulates with her connection with the Ancients of her world.

Doing her best to follow Blank’s movements, the duo twirled about upon the dance floor with much ease. Her heels accidentally did connect with the thespian’s boots here and there, but Aerith was quick to apologize every time. “Oops! I am so sorry.” She giggled sheepishly as she clutched tightly to Blank’s hand.

Blank had suffered a lot worse than having his feet stood on in the past, so he made no big deal out of it. However, her giggling was contagious and he couldn't help letting out laughs of his own as they twirled and danced on the dance floor, managing to stay upright, apart from the dips - that were on purpose and not accidents at all!

Cloud and the others may have disliked living here on Gaia, but Aerith honestly didn't share in their displeasure. Gaia was an amazing world, one filled with so much beauty and wonder. Also, Gaia so many friendly people here! It was hard to believe that the Regent of Lindblum was this courteous to allow all of his loyal subjects to dance within his palace of castle. Aerith had to keep pinching her cheek to make sure she wasn't dreaming.

"C-careful!" She laughed merrily once he dipped her towards the floor. "If you drop me, I'll be the joke of the evening."

Blank laughed again, pulling Aerith tight against him as they righted themselves, continuing to dance to the music. "Don't worry, I'd never drop such a pretty girl on the floor." A bed was a completely different matter though. No! He would behave himself!

"So, tell me Aerith, are you happy in Gaia? I mean... you're not from here, are you? Do you miss your world?"
