Characters: OPEN to all party guests
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: A big party for a small girl. Yep, it's Eiko's birthday and she's having a ball.
Location: Lindblum Grand Castle
Date: March 21st, 1804
Warnings: N/A so far

Nobody could say that Regent Cid wasn't generous when it came to his adopted daughter, Eiko. In fact, some said that he was too indulgent. But on this, the evening of Eiko's tenth birthday, the citizens of Lindblum were ready and eager to celebrate. A free ball! Free drinks, free food, and a free pass into Lindblum Grand Castle. Many had failed to acquire tickets in time and were disappointed, but the lucky few piled eagerly into the castle.

Security was tight, and every single guest was checked by the guards before being allowed to enter. Once inside, they would find a wide and sumptuously decorated ballroom. A small group of musicians played slow and ambient music, while the party guests swayed across the floor dressed in all their finery. What could only be described as a flock of moogles flew or scurried around the room, offering glasses of champagne and various sweet treats. Regent Cid himself sat on a grand throne at the head of the room, nodding graciously at the guests who came to pay their respects.

The ball was already in full swing, and the party would go on for a long while yet.

[ooc: Don't worry if you didn't comment to Regent Cid's earlier post requesting tickets. Handwaving is just fine if you want to hop in. It's party style - go tag and mingle! Thread jumping and ninja tagging is encouraged.]

[ooc: Eiko has made a very loud announcement about a celebrity couple's engagement. Feel free to overhear, react or congratulate.]

Mjrn nodded, quite embarrassed. She had resolved not to jostle or trip over anyone during this event, so of course it happened despite her efforts. "I am, miss. Please, forgive my clumsiness. I ought to have noticed where I was headed."

An awkward pause, which she tried to smooth over with an introduction. "I am Mjrn."

Ellone didn't mind. She was used to this sort of thing happening during these big social events. It was hard to keep everyone from stepping on each other. She smiled and shook her head. "It's all right. It's hard to avoid."

She gave a little curtsy. "It's nice to meet you, Mjrn. I'm Ellone. Your voice sounds familiar. Probably from the Sky Phones?"

Mjrn nodded politely and then paused to consider Ellone's suggestion. "It is possible. I listen to it often, for any relevant news. I do not recall speaking to you directly, however. Are you a Sky Person?"

Ellone nodded. "I am. Sometimes I just listen to the entries without replying, to hear what's going on everywhere else. It can be a good source of information, but I have to be careful. I don't want to worry Uncle Laguna or Raine when I do pay attention." She paused and offered a smile. "If you ever find yourself near Jidoor, you should stop by."

"Raine?" Mjrn perked up. "Raine...Loire? If so, I have met her. She was very kind to me." She paused, considering Ellone's idea. "Jidoor...that is not on the Mist Continent, I believe. What is it like?"

Ellone nodded, smiling as Mjrn spoke of Raine. "She adopted me when I was a child." And she'd missed Raine so much for so long.

"It's on the Forgotten Continent, I believe. It's a very calm town. An auction house is there, so sometimes people come to visit it, but I really like the town. It reminds me of a more advanced version of my hometown, Winhill."

Mjrn listened, intrigued. "Aside from the auction house, it seems to be Treno's opposite. It is not under a constant cloud of night as well, I hope? I would not long endure another place where no sunlight ever breached." The thought made her frown a little. Treno had been...interesting...but she really had no desire to ever see it again.
