Progress: Incomplete
Summary: Various people trying to knock some sense into the dear General.
Location: Pirate's Lair
Date: April
Warnings: Grown men acting childish, a fire spell applied directly to the face~

Once the pirates had been cleared from the island, it left one with rather little to do once the mess had been cleaned up and the bodies disposed of. Without duties or any distractions to be had despite the restoration of his phone, it would seem he currently had considerable time to think over things he'd been putting off for going on several months now. At least that one dream had stopped once he'd left Wutai behind him, even if the suggestion laden behind it was still with him.

Despite Cloud's apology and retraction of words, he couldn't help but think perhaps the blond had been at least partly right in some of them...quite possibly it was that small fact that had caused him to do as he did. He'd been trying to avoid the guilt and blame for what had occurred and Cloud had in essence refused to let him run away from it any longer.

Eyes shifting away from the seemingly endless horizon before him, fell to rest on the water below the docks upon which he currently stood. The black of the accursed wing stood out and seemed to demand notice, bringing another person's words to mind. What did it matter that both parents were human when those parents took it upon themselves to see to it that the majority of the child had the same DNA and cells of a monster?

Well, there was one thing Genesis found out about the creature that wouldn't stop following him. It was a good lead. And he finally found out what the creature was upon making a call soon after he went to Angeal and Sephiroth to pry the thing away from him and all three initially failed. It was a Moomba, though it looked like it was native only one world which was the world where the Garden was from.

He heard the rustling of feathers and murmured to the creature at his hip. "Take me to Sephiroth."

The moomba took hold of Genesis' hand and led him to the dock, carefully climbing the steps with his staff as a guide, he left go of the moomba's paw so approach Sephiroth. "So this is where you hide, dear general?"

"Not really," Genesis shrugged, crossing his arms. "I was wondering where you had gone."

He was silent for a few moments before speaking up again. "What are you brooding about?"

Genesis sighed. The stupid man was intent on avoiding his question with a half-assed answer like that. It was irritating and downright annoying. With his staff, he placed the end on small of Sephiroth's back and pushed.

"Yes, it was," Genesis grinned, crossing his arms. "You deserved it. You were brooding and it was annoying."

Of course, he couldn't see the annoyed look but he knew it was there and it only made him grin wider. He snorted then and rolled his sightless eyes. Really, Sephiroth had to make things so difficult. But, at least he proved entertaining. "Besides, I know exactly what you were brooding about. I decided to throw off your stream on consciousness before you fell down into the waterfall of depression and angst and 'oh woe is me, for I am a monster'. You think I haven't been there before?"

"...you're much more dense than I thought you were," Genesis deadpanned. He gave another fantastic rolling of his eyes before walking forward and sitting down next to the wet general. "My point is you shouldn't be feeling sorry for yourself. Pity doesn't suit you."

Genesis flailed slightly when he was pushed, his back hitting the water. He was lucky the water was shallow so that he could feel the ground and know which way was up. He came to the surface and sputtered. "What was that for?!"

Probably because he had done the same thing, but still.

Genesis felt around for the dock, the moomba making noises to help direct him. Finally, he hauled himself out of the water. "Because even after seven years, I know how you act. And did I not tell you that Angeal and I went through the same state of mind? You really think you can fool me into believing that upon receiving that wing, coupled by what you know is inside you and the dreams and you killing Cloud Strife that you are perfectly fine?" He snorted. "Please don't insult my intelligence."

"Fine, you were never perfectly fine," Genesis conceded with just a shrug. "That doesn't change the fact that I know what you are thinking. You aren't fine at all. Why else would you be out here brooding?"

"Because you're not "mulling over" it," Genesis replied, sighing in exasperation. "Since when have you become so difficult?"

Genesis hooked his staff, with surprising accuracy for one who was blind, at Sephroth's ankle and pulled.

It took Zack long enough to finally get to the damn place and of course half way there he found out that Cloud was once more with the living. Not that was a bad thing, not at all! It just made the former SOLDIER wish he had waited before leaving. Oh well, nothing to do about it now and besides he was still set on seeing Sephiroth. However, he didn't think his first meeting for the General since ending up in Gaia would be like this.

"Ummm, am I interrupting something?" He had to fight back a laugh because the two of them looked ridiculous.

Genesis' balance was caught for him but the steadying paws of the moomba. Well now, this creature was quite helpful. Genesis was rather impressed. "Zack, please don't let him leave," Genesis asked with a sigh. Though it was also an order for Zack to stop him.

Not that Zack really needed to be ordered.

Nope, Zack didn't need Genesis to tell him that. He turned around quickly, grabbing Sephiroth's arm before the other man could find somewhere to hide.

"Hey, I came out here to see you so don't go taking off like that." The amused look on his face was gone, now he was frowning at the man who he once called friend. "After everything..."

Nibelheim, the years of Hojo's sick testing, killing Cloud; it all rolling in Zack's mind to the point he didn't know what to say or thinking. Therefore, without thinking, he raised his free hand and bopped Sephiroth on the head.

"I'm trying to be your friend here, at least give me the time of the day or something!"

"Perhaps if you stopped to listen for once, your mind would settle and you would not have these impulses that are so uncalled for," Genesis said, walking up to the pair. His boot found Sephiroth's shoulder and pushed. "And that was for pushing me into the water."

Well, if there was a good side to all of this it was the fact that Sephiroth didn't have a weapon. He barely had time to hiss out from his wrist being twisted before he found himself in the water. Okay, at least it was better than a sword to the gut.

He pushed his bangs out of his face and looked up at Sephiroth. "Yeah, well, guess knocking you on the head was too." Just as he was reaching up to take the offered hand, Genesis had his say in the matter. Zack flailed out of the way, having Seph land on top of him did not sound like fun.

Vincent had been enjoying the quiet of the area around Pirate's Lair- Lindblum was so much busier and noisier than he preferred. The sound of splashing, though, had distracted him, and finally Vincent had given up and walked down to the docks to see what on Gaia the others staying in the Lair were doing.

He arrived just in time to see Genesis shove Sephiroth into the water once again. He caught the comment, and that Genesis was also dripping wet, but he still stopped outside of Genesis's reach. Whatever this had started out as, it seemed to have devolved into a childish fight.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, amusement coloring his voice.

Genesis shrugged. "He was irritating me."

He felt the water splash on him and he rolled his eyes and made a face that said, 'See?' Though Sephiroth needn't be worried, Genesis wasn't going to push anyone else in the water. Instead, he crossed his arms. Where was the moomba, anyway? "He is brooding over what he has been told and still reacts without thinking. His consequence was to be pushed into the water. A much safer tactic than crossing swords, no?"

Zack took Sephiroth's hand and pulled himself back onto the dock. He shook his hair a bit before looking down at his now soaked clothes.

"Hopefully everybody is cooled down now, huh?" He said with a weak smile before looking over the newcomer. Although Zack didn't know him the former SOLDIER assumed that he had been invited as well. "Oh, so you got a new buddy. I see how it is."

Of course Zack said this light heartily, though he wasn't sure just what relationship him and Sephiroth had now. Same for Genesis as well.

"I see," Vincent said. He frowned and stepped back at the water flicked at him, giving Sephiroth a look right back. He wasn't as soaked as the other three, but his shirt had gotten wet, and stuck to him irritatingly. "Yes, I suppose it is safer." He replied to Genesis.

"New buddy? Hardly." he snorted. at Zack's comment. Even though he was here, it didn't mean that they considered him anything close to a friend.

"No, you may not," Genesis latched onto Sephiroth's wing, yanking him back. "Sit and stay."

Quickly, his wing burst from his back to catch his balance, but he wasn't done yet. "Wet clothing or not," He growled, quickly reaching out as best he could to catch hold of Sephiroth again. "You are running away and you need to stop running. That is all you have been doing! Ever since you woke up! You really think you have it so damn hard? Do you?!"

"No," Genesis said, using the hold to make his way in front of Sephiroth. "You are only going to run again."

Yes, wet clothing was a legit excuse to go inside, but he knew Sephiroth. Once inside, he'd only retreat to his room.

And then enough was enough. A light conversation and a few splashes were alright, all things considered, but bickering and the starting actions of a fight? Oh no. Not after what happened. Angeal had been out and about, surveying the island when he heard shouting and the quiet replies. He breezed past Vincent, since he obviously had nothing to do with the bickering, nudging him back just a little bit to pass by and make a beeline to Zack.

A hand was on the boys shoulder not a second later, pushing him down on the dock. "Sit." And once Zack was sitting, he turned to Genesis and Sephiroth, parting them and doing to them what he did to his student. "Sit. Both of you." Angeal's tone was serious as he faced Genesis one way and Sephiroth the other, back to back. They wanted to talk? Well, now they would have to do so like children in time out. Anger wasn't the way to get points across, no matter how good it felt.

"We're all frustrated but act like adults. Humor me; for our sanity." It was a chain reaction with them wasn't it? Of course it was. He already knew that but... it was a whole new level here from what he was used to.

Genesis struggled against Angeal, frustrated because he could have avoided Angeal had he been able to see. "I tried being reasonable, don't blame me if Sephiroth wants to run from his problems."

When Angeal let go, he immediately got up and decided he wanted to leave. Things never went anywhere when Sephiroth was stubborn and Genesis wasn't about to let Angeal decide to treat them like children.

It was a quick hand to Genesis arm as he stormed off, pulling him back. "And you think you'll be helping him by leaving? I'm not aware of what you've done here to keep him from doing what he does in our world but I know for certain getting frustrated and walking off won't help anyone."

He wanted to shout to get his point across but if he did then maybe Genesis wouldn't see he, like Sephiroth, was running from his problems too. "You don't have to sit but I'm asking that you don't leave."

Genesis was jerked to a stop and he growled, slapping his hand over Angeal's face and cast Fire. "If he wants to be left alone so badly, then let him!" He pushed Angeal back and turned back to leave.

The moomba hurriedly followed after him, not exactly happy with all the yelling and fire balls.

Stumbling back from the blast, he hurried to pat out the little flames and brush the soot off. And it was a bitter and hurt look he donned after as he watched Genesis walk off.

He glanced over to Sephiroth in his peripheral. "And?" Angeal sighed. "Is he right? Would you rather be left alone?"

While Angeal no longer had the same resolve to talk to much of anyone now, Sephiroth was his friend. And he needed to talk to someone. He was upset, that much was obvious, even when he didn't speak. Dull blues looked with sympathy over to the younger as he spoke.

"Whatever it is you're fighting; your 'destiny'," it almost sounded like a question as he walked to the end of the dock, arms crossed, as Angeal looked over the ocean. "you can fight it. You're not that weak to let something from another time and world affect you somewhere new. Your slate isn't clean anymore but that doesn't mean you can't be the real Sephiroth. The man you're supposed to be."

Zack's head was starting to hurt from Genesis and Sephiroth's fighting. Now he could see why Sephiroth wanted to leave, Genesis was acting like a damn kid. When Angeal walked over Zack wasn't sure what to say, seeing as how the man was dead where he was from. Before he could even manage a greeting he was forced to sit down like a kid in timeout. Just like Angeal, even now treating him like a kid.

He sat there and watched the fighting continue until Genesis cast Fire on Angeal. "What the hell?!" It was a good thing Genesis left or else Zack may have thrown the other man into the water, blind or not. Well, he wasn't here for Genesis, so to heck with the other man and he turned his attention back to Sephiroth and Angeal.

"He's right, ya know. If anyone can fight something it's you, Seph." Zack let the nickname slip for the first time since he got to Gaia. "Half the people calling you a monster never really knew you, they knew that...thing. And I know that isn't you. No way, no how."
