Genesis flailed slightly when he was pushed, his back hitting the water. He was lucky the water was shallow so that he could feel the ground and know which way was up. He came to the surface and sputtered. "What was that for?!"

Probably because he had done the same thing, but still.

"I thought you deserved it." He replied looking down at the soaked redhead.

"I'm not feeling sorry for myself, as you've put it. Why would you even think that?"

Genesis felt around for the dock, the moomba making noises to help direct him. Finally, he hauled himself out of the water. "Because even after seven years, I know how you act. And did I not tell you that Angeal and I went through the same state of mind? You really think you can fool me into believing that upon receiving that wing, coupled by what you know is inside you and the dreams and you killing Cloud Strife that you are perfectly fine?" He snorted. "Please don't insult my intelligence."

Sephiroth watched as Genesis hauled himself out of the water, hands tightening subtly over his arms, the wing resting mantled behind him. "I never stated that I am perfectly fine, Genesis. You would do well to cease making such assumptions."

"Fine, you were never perfectly fine," Genesis conceded with just a shrug. "That doesn't change the fact that I know what you are thinking. You aren't fine at all. Why else would you be out here brooding?"

This was getting nowhere and not to mention was rapidly becoming annoying. "Just why do you care if I choose to mull over what I've been told?"

"Because you're not "mulling over" it," Genesis replied, sighing in exasperation. "Since when have you become so difficult?"

"How am I being difficult? I've answered all of your questions. Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to get out of these wet clothes." Sephiroth stated, moving to attempt leaving the docks and the redhead behind.

Genesis hooked his staff, with surprising accuracy for one who was blind, at Sephroth's ankle and pulled.

Sephiroth managed to keep his balance despite the attempt to jerk a leg out from under him, reaching down afterward to take hold of the staff and pull it hard towards him.

It took Zack long enough to finally get to the damn place and of course half way there he found out that Cloud was once more with the living. Not that was a bad thing, not at all! It just made the former SOLDIER wish he had waited before leaving. Oh well, nothing to do about it now and besides he was still set on seeing Sephiroth. However, he didn't think his first meeting for the General since ending up in Gaia would be like this.

"Ummm, am I interrupting something?" He had to fight back a laugh because the two of them looked ridiculous.

Letting go of the staff as he heard another voice speak from before them, Sephiroth straightened up to look briefly at Zack. "No. I was just leaving actually."

Continuing pass the the younger man to leave the docks, he hoped Genesis wouldn't try any more stupid tricks to keep him from going now that they had an audience. As much as he'd like stay and visit with Zack; he'd talk to him later when his thoughts weren't in the current mess they had gotten into after this little farce just now with Genesis.

Genesis' balance was caught for him but the steadying paws of the moomba. Well now, this creature was quite helpful. Genesis was rather impressed. "Zack, please don't let him leave," Genesis asked with a sigh. Though it was also an order for Zack to stop him.

Not that Zack really needed to be ordered.

Nope, Zack didn't need Genesis to tell him that. He turned around quickly, grabbing Sephiroth's arm before the other man could find somewhere to hide.

"Hey, I came out here to see you so don't go taking off like that." The amused look on his face was gone, now he was frowning at the man who he once called friend. "After everything..."

Nibelheim, the years of Hojo's sick testing, killing Cloud; it all rolling in Zack's mind to the point he didn't know what to say or thinking. Therefore, without thinking, he raised his free hand and bopped Sephiroth on the head.

"I'm trying to be your friend here, at least give me the time of the day or something!"

Sephiroth looked down at Zack, the oval pupils narrowing and causing the green eyes to look even more unnatural than they already did. Jerking his arm out of the hold, took hold of the offending hand which had delivered the bop by the wrist and twisted it sharply before shoving Zack off the dock and thus out of his way.

He made it two strides further after that before he came to a halt again and did an abrupt about face, walking to where Zack had been unceremoniously pushed off and kneeling down to extend a hand toward him. "...Forgive me, that was uncalled for. Let me help you out.."

"Perhaps if you stopped to listen for once, your mind would settle and you would not have these impulses that are so uncalled for," Genesis said, walking up to the pair. His boot found Sephiroth's shoulder and pushed. "And that was for pushing me into the water."

Well, if there was a good side to all of this it was the fact that Sephiroth didn't have a weapon. He barely had time to hiss out from his wrist being twisted before he found himself in the water. Okay, at least it was better than a sword to the gut.

He pushed his bangs out of his face and looked up at Sephiroth. "Yeah, well, guess knocking you on the head was too." Just as he was reaching up to take the offered hand, Genesis had his say in the matter. Zack flailed out of the way, having Seph land on top of him did not sound like fun.

Vincent had been enjoying the quiet of the area around Pirate's Lair- Lindblum was so much busier and noisier than he preferred. The sound of splashing, though, had distracted him, and finally Vincent had given up and walked down to the docks to see what on Gaia the others staying in the Lair were doing.

He arrived just in time to see Genesis shove Sephiroth into the water once again. He caught the comment, and that Genesis was also dripping wet, but he still stopped outside of Genesis's reach. Whatever this had started out as, it seemed to have devolved into a childish fight.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, amusement coloring his voice.

The silver general's displeased gaze shifted briefly from the redhead which was the current source of his annoyance toward Vincent before returning back toward Genesis. "There is nothing wrong, Valentine. Unless you care to count Genesis sudden penchant for shoving people into the water without warning.."

Pulling himself back up onto the dock, the large black wing shook itself free of the water, if that water happened to be directed toward Genesis and Valentine, oh well.

Once he'd gotten his hair out of his face once again, he knelt down to help Zack up out of the water as well. If Genesis took it upon himself to repeat his little stunt, he'd try his best to pull the redhead in with him next time.

Genesis shrugged. "He was irritating me."

He felt the water splash on him and he rolled his eyes and made a face that said, 'See?' Though Sephiroth needn't be worried, Genesis wasn't going to push anyone else in the water. Instead, he crossed his arms. Where was the moomba, anyway? "He is brooding over what he has been told and still reacts without thinking. His consequence was to be pushed into the water. A much safer tactic than crossing swords, no?"

Zack took Sephiroth's hand and pulled himself back onto the dock. He shook his hair a bit before looking down at his now soaked clothes.

"Hopefully everybody is cooled down now, huh?" He said with a weak smile before looking over the newcomer. Although Zack didn't know him the former SOLDIER assumed that he had been invited as well. "Oh, so you got a new buddy. I see how it is."

Of course Zack said this light heartily, though he wasn't sure just what relationship him and Sephiroth had now. Same for Genesis as well.

"I see," Vincent said. He frowned and stepped back at the water flicked at him, giving Sephiroth a look right back. He wasn't as soaked as the other three, but his shirt had gotten wet, and stuck to him irritatingly. "Yes, I suppose it is safer." He replied to Genesis.

"New buddy? Hardly." he snorted. at Zack's comment. Even though he was here, it didn't mean that they considered him anything close to a friend.

"If I may.." The terse words were directed toward the redhead not too far from him and Zack. "I'm going to go change out of these wet clothes."

That said, Sephiroth turned away from Genesis and Vincent to attempt once more to leave the docks, pausing at the steps to look back toward Zack. "I can try to find you some drier clothes as well, if you care to come with me Zack."

"No, you may not," Genesis latched onto Sephiroth's wing, yanking him back. "Sit and stay."

Hissing softly at the yanking of the wing, Sephiroth took hold of the offending arm that had latched onto the dark appendage and pulled it loose before using it to shove Genesis back away from him hard. "I'm not your dog to be ordered around, Genesis. And while you may have no problems standing around in wet clothing, I am not going to any longer than necessary.."

Turning away from the redhead Sephiroth headed past Zack silently intent this to actually make his leave from the docks, heading toward the house beyond them that they'd chosen to stay in for the time being.

Quickly, his wing burst from his back to catch his balance, but he wasn't done yet. "Wet clothing or not," He growled, quickly reaching out as best he could to catch hold of Sephiroth again. "You are running away and you need to stop running. That is all you have been doing! Ever since you woke up! You really think you have it so damn hard? Do you?!"

Feeling Genesis's hand catch both hair and the wet cloth covering his back, Sephiroth stopped once more, eyes closing as he spoke, tone calm, if cold. "Let go, Genesis."
