Characters: Reno, Tseng, Cissnei and Zack
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: Time to recover after defeating the dragon zombie and getting their drop of myrrh
Location: Qu's Marsh
Date: backlog to just after the Swamp Incident
Warnings: Reno's mouth. Fluff. S'Mores.
The Dragon was defeated, smote within Qu's Marsh but a stone's throw from the Myrrh Tree locked in the center. Three weary, injured Turks and a single worn out SOLDIER now sat along the outskirts of the swamp with their prizes, tucked around a campfire a short distance from one of the streams that fed the muddy marsh.
A few scant feet away, two tents were set up, each capable of housing two.
Reno's eyes snapped to Cissnei, brows furrowing in concern. "You sure you got that wound washed out properly?" he asked, jacket laying over a log to dry, while his damp shirt and pants were still clinging to him from their 'bath' in the stream. "It'd be awful if you got sick from it," he added with a frown, glancing over to Zack, who sat a few inches to Cissnei's left. At least the SOLDIER was there for the night, if anything else went wrong. But now that they weren't muddy any longer, and could relax? He dug into his pack, pulling out food (dried meat and fruit, as well as some cheese), and ... yup! The last of the s'more-making supplies. He'd brought four branches with him from the trek to the stream and back, and pulled out a small jack-knife from his pack, scraping off the bark and creating some nice points on those twigs.
"At least we got some treats for our efforts. Well, besides a third-full chalice," he insisted as he finished one point on a stick. "Rufus' funds were depleted considerably by his purchase of the Marquis' manor for our use. So... what we acquired from our stint in the swamp ought to refill those funds quickly." He spared another glance at Zack, grinning. "When Ciss and I get back from exploring Midgar, we'll treat you to a steak dinner and drinks for your help. You and Tseng really did save the day. Don't know what we'd have done with out the two of you..."

Date: 2010-11-21 12:46 am (UTC)By this time she had put her hair in a ponytail due to the humidity and the heat. Her clothes, too, were sticking to her skin but she kept her jacket on, sleeves rolled up halfway. She drank some water from her canteen and then set it next to the Crystal Chalice. "Funny thing you are," she told it.
