The Dragon was defeated, smote within Qu's Marsh but a stone's throw from the Myrrh Tree locked in the center. Three weary, injured Turks and a single worn out SOLDIER now sat along the outskirts of the swamp with their prizes, tucked around a campfire a short distance from one of the streams that fed the muddy marsh.

Though the festival had been delayed due to the recent invasion of Lindblum, the people seemed to be in high spirits. The Hunt was a tradition, and it would not be cancelled.

Spectators gathered along the castle walls to watch the drama taking place below. The hunters took their positions, scattered in every district. Then the monsters were released.

"Hunters, on your mark! You have twelve minutes. GO!"

She'd been denied that. She'd been denied Time Compression, and for now was settling for the best way to rid the world of insufferable crawling nuisances - sheer, outright massacre. The city would fall, the center of life on this world, and she would expand outward to greater distances.
