Characters: OPEN TO EVERYONE
Progress: Ongoing
Summary: A party to get over all the drama (and to celebrate a pirate's birthday but only a few people know that so shhhh.)
Location: Just outside Wutai
Date: February 27th, 1804
Warnings: Um. Alcohol, pirates, drunken Selphie, probably a lot of innuendo and... a surprise later~!
The evening was set and any guests that had needed to be picked up had been. Balthier had done a tour of Gaia to collect the people that didn't have airships or couldn't acquire transport and set everyone down in Wutai. The Strahl was parked just outside of Wutai, where the party was to be held. Technically, it wasn't in Wutai, thus should any complay about the noise or the crowd, then there would be no reason they should leave. Balthier had strategically set them outside of Wutai, and asked permission, to keep things settled.
He didn't exactly want this to blow up in everyone's faces after the slew of dramatics that had rolled in during the past two weeks or so, even if he was to blame for part of it.
Flames crackling on the large bonfire he had set earlier, the majority of the light in the area came from the fire and the Strahl's lights, particularly the glossair rings. Thankfully, the engine wouldn't overheat as he'd fine tuned it earlier in the morning.
An enormous table (the origins of which were not for anyone to question) stood to one side, covered all over with various party food that Fran had cooked. While she wasn't exactly a gourmet chef, the Viera was skilled enough to make decent party food for the guests. Next to that stood three smaller tables, all piled high with various different alcoholic beverages, and a small table with non-alcoholic drinks was overshadowed by the sheer mass of booze.
Balthier had paid off everyone he'd needed to pay; everything was set.
The party looked to be a good night and seemed as if it'd go without a hitch!
[OOC: Let's do this party style, guys. Ninja tagging and threadjacking is encouraged. Let's just go wild, since the drama llama has finally ridden away. X3]

Date: 2010-02-27 02:23 am (UTC)Allowing his eyes to turn away from the sky, the bard wore a cheerful smile as he played. Watching the others in silence as his fingers drummed along the strings of his lute, Edward remain quiet as he watched some of the other party goers mingle amongst themselves. He barely knew anyone here at this elaborate little shindig, so Edward was feeling a tad shy about introducing himself to anyone.

Date: 2010-02-27 09:01 pm (UTC)Fran had spent much of the day cooking and preparing the food, but now she was showered, changed and enjoying the scenery, sat off to the side by herself. She cradled a glass of wine in her hand, sipping every so often.

Date: 2010-02-27 10:53 pm (UTC)The Strahl didn't go unnoticed by the redhead either - not that it was easy to miss. He had never seen such a fine airship before, and that was really saying something considering how highly he viewed the Vista. "Woah~"

Date: 2010-02-28 01:10 am (UTC)Sipping his drink, the pirate smirked at the redhead. "Of course, she looks better in the sky."

Date: 2010-02-28 01:05 am (UTC)Of course, that was before his eyes, stomach and feet found the table laden with food. Sabin's legs quickly brought him to the table where he helped himself to the haul laid out before him. The many different dishes to choose from made the meal provided on the Phantom Train pale in comparison to what was laid out before him.

Date: 2010-02-28 08:30 pm (UTC)Though... it did look as if there wouldn't be much left before long. Sabin could certainly pack it away.

"What party would this be if they shunned us from drinking?"

Date: 2010-02-28 03:25 am (UTC)Sighing softly, Quistis stood off to the side, arms crossed and body slightly rigid as she watched the others mingle and chat. She was no good at these types of parties; she didn't even know anyone there, beside the SeeDs. She contemplated heading back on board the Ragnarok, but decided the least she could do was wait until Selphie had performed. She only hoped that it would be sooner rather than later.

Date: 2010-02-28 03:33 am (UTC)"Oh, my pardon. I could have sworn you were her." Of course, it was silly of him to think of this dame to be Rosa, especially since the poor woman was still sick in bed. Edward had hoped that Rosa and the others would come along to this party but alas, he was the only one present. With a little sigh, the bard turned away to glance towards the many who paraded around the bonfire.
"'Tis so strange, isn't it? A party in the middle of the woods..."

Date: 2010-02-28 04:48 am (UTC)A beer in hand, Reno was dressed in a black shirt, black pants, his boots and a coat and scarf. Even if it wasn't icy cold, Reno didn't deal well with cold or hot. He was best when it was an even climate. Pushing back strands of red, he yawned to himself. At least the music was somewhat decent.

Date: 2010-02-28 10:13 am (UTC)She liked Reno. She liked him a lot. She didn't have many friends, not really. Mostly, she had acquaintances that were Balthier's friends. Not that it bothered her too much, but it was nice to have a friend of her own. Someone she could talk to. Sure, she could talk to Balthier, he was her best friend, but sometimes, there were things she just couldn't say to him.
She gave him a smile, holding out the bottle to him. "For you."

Date: 2010-02-28 09:19 am (UTC)Or so that’s what he’ll have you think.
Since he hadn’t decided to grace the attendees with an appearance until the last minute he was incredibly late. (Call it being fashionably late.) What should have been a grand appearance drawing the attention of all was instead something as simple as him slinking into the mass of guests unnoticed. There were enough characters and faces to damp down the oddity of his appearance, but anyone who might glance over may find themselves taking a second look if they’ve never seen him before.
Those who have seen him before would be doing the same but for entirely different reasons. What purpose does he have being here? Good luck finding out~

Date: 2010-02-28 02:31 pm (UTC)She walked over to him, smiling. "Hey! Don't think I've seen you around before. What's your name?"

Date: 2010-02-28 05:30 pm (UTC)"Honestly, must they dance so close to the flames?" The doctor grumbled as he watched a few tipsy folks start to convene near the bonfire. If someone falls in, Cidolfus damn sure isn't going to fish them out.

Date: 2010-02-28 07:14 pm (UTC)After a pause, he looked back to the older Bunansa. "I didn't expect you to join the celebrations after our conversations upon your arrival..." He hadn't expected to tell Cid he'd killed him, either.

From:FOR PIED; around 2am - yes the party is still happening
Date: 2010-02-28 07:32 pm (UTC)Leaned against the Strahl, safely far enough from the sound system that it didn't deafen him, Balthier watched the party as it continued into the night. Most of the Wutaian natives had made their way down and been invited into the party, which was great, actually. He planned to head up and check on Sephiroth, come morning, when everyone had gone, but for now the party was still swinging and he prefered to just stay there. It was probably one of his better birthdays since leaving Archades, though nothing would compare to his eighteenth.
Smiling slightly, he crossed his arms and simply watched. Nothing could have gone wrong tonight. It was perfect.

Date: 2010-03-01 12:38 am (UTC)"There he is!"
Since Balthier had so carelessly told everybody where he was going to be tonight on the network, the knights had had ample time to fly over to Wutai. After that, the light of the bonfire and the airships had guided them to the party's location.
Two knights charged and pinned Balthier roughly against the hull of the Strahl while a ring of spears surrounded him. As they checked to see if he was armed, the leading knight stepped forward.
"You're under arrest! Come with us."

From:>.> Assume this is earlier in the evening.
Date: 2010-03-01 02:26 am (UTC)But Wutai wasn't so bad. Quaint, she might have said, if she used such words. But there was a party to be had, and drinks to be drank, and the drifter captain was not about to miss out on that!
/assumes X3
Date: 2010-03-04 06:49 pm (UTC)Laying a polite hand on the captain's shoulder, Balthier stepped around Faris to give a friendly smirk. "Captain Sherwiz, correct? I believe we've spoken before." He had two glasses of some sort of amber coloured liquid in one hand, instantly offering one to Faris. "How are you enjoying the evening?"
